He's a bit of a tightwad and I suspect I wont see him til he thinks I'll have forgotten about it. :(
Pal just been over with her horse in her trailer. Bought with her lunch and there is enough left over for Mr Watty to eat when he gets home from work so result there. Finished the olive leaf tea (92)that was one of the things sent in the review job. Wont be buying that!! She came over to ride her horse in the arena here while Handsome Baby and I were in arena as part of her efforts to get her confidence up as she keeps coming off him. Unfortunately I moved a pole causing her horse to spook and she fell off. Wasn't really sure what to say as I think the horse is way too sensitive and unlike own baby her horse really is old enough to know better.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

It is lovely to have it. It was a luxury when we renovated here. I could have spent more on the kitchen or the bathroom but I saved money and put that in. I did discuss it with an estate agent re making the place more saleable afterwards, he said it wouldn't add a lot to the price so not to do it just for resale value but if I would use it then it would make the place more attractive when we sold up. Sometimes I think I could have done more with the bathroom but I spent the money outside :)

Serious maths time: I think it will take 3.5 years to pay off the mortgage. I know when I started the diary lets see how far I could get by January 2014 and I did well helped my share sales and an endowment, but, now it is savings and economising from here on in :)
Declutter time: Made some soup and fed up with blender. its rubber feet seem to have melted and leave sticky mess everywhere including over everything in cupboard. But blender is fine and I found replacement feet on ebay (£1.69 for 8 inc postage). So will scrape old feet off with knife and replace renovating blender on cheap. When I started diary I would have thrown it away - now - I fix it :) As I have a plan to fix it I cleared out cupboard and threw away 2 lids that don't get used and a stick blender attachment I don't want (94). Removed rubber sticky stuff from everything in cupboard and now have on hands :rotfl:
MFW: Need to save money on food bill. A constant theme on my diary I feel :rotfl: Made inventory of chest freezer. It was surprisingly full.
Fun time: Mr Watty working this afternoon and evening so took self off to the next village where the history society have a first world war project open weekend. Fab exhibits and really interesting. Also tiny church open. Loved the church. Perfect stone building, small, traditional, a true place to worship. Checked service times. Confessing to £2.50 spent on a cup of tea and scone with jam and cream. As I don't usually eat sugar I now feel sick :rotfl::rotfl:

Seems Mr Eds has won a championship title. Saw lovely photo of his young person beaming with Mr Eds in sash and 3 fluttering red rosettes. How lovely he is behaving for someone :)
Decluttering continues: did a kitchen drawer and threw away some rubbish (95) threw broken utensil by cooker, no idea why I was keeping that (96) and framed a photo that has been propped up in a plastic bag since it came into the house (97).
And best of all listed a couple of items on ebay last night and one sold, only £2.75 but its sold and income covers feet for blender with left overs :) - only problem is I cant find said item :rotfl:So first challenge of day is to find item and post (98) then must do some real work before farrier arrives.

Yesterday Mr Watty dog and I went to the local village where there was a free event as part of their music festival. Sat on green listening to folk chaps playing squeeze box. Had to get back for an evening telephone conference call re work. Made me want to retire so I can do more of the enjoyable :)

    Watty,
I've just spend the whole morning at work reading your thread and I have to say, it was fab! You have achieved so much in the last 10 months, what with handsome baby and the mortgage, well done!

Horses are obviously your first love so could you not turn them into a living? How many stables do you have? And the RDA, could that possibly turn into a full time role because it sounds a brilliant idea?

Goodness Ally that must have been some reading. Thank you!!

We have 4 stables here and I did think about renting a room in the house to someone with their horse but Mr Watty said no to lodgers of any kind - human or equine - so I've left the idea with him. Maybe he will change his mind. His call :)

The honest answer to could I make a living with horses is probably not, my confidence hit an all time low when I had the problems at the start of the diary and I am getting on brilliantly with handsome baby but I doubt I would earn a living. However I'm not going to rule it out as I am considering training as a saddle fitter, and, I am holding in mind a paddock care service too as a way of earning some money off the equipment we have here. At the moment I need my current work to haul in the cash to pay for handsome baby and FoggyFellPony and riding and the mortgage. (Mr Watty's earnings pay everything else).
Once the mortgage is gone, freedom awaits and then I will explore other options. I don't plan on total retirement, I'm willing to work - just not all the time like now :)
