Thanks Habibiboo. Totally recovered thank you and no damage done to car so that's all good :)

If I can get out to get some seeds I will pop in a few broad beans as I love them and was horrified at price of them in supermarket. Whatever has happened to me? I never used to be the sort of woman who checked prices! Also like the Michaelmas daisy suggestion too so will see what garden centre can offer cheaply.

Lovely day yesterday. Mr Watty and I went to Hickstead (large show jumping course for the Derby). Lovely day out, and, free to get in as Mr Watty has a friend on a trade stand and he helped her for a bit while I watched the main class of the day (he didn't want to see it particularly) so we saved £64 entry and parking costs. Wouldn't have paid so most MSE. Gorgeous weather and a lovely potter around the trade stands.

Habibiboo very right about looking at life alongside the money. I had a lovely day, really enjoyed the company and yet, in past would have come back with a carrier bag of purchases from trade stands and spent a fortune. This time I had as much fun and purchases were £5 on a new feed bucket for handsome baby as his has a whole in it (due to his habit of playing with bucket as soon as is empty) and some plaiting stuff. I got home happy, tired and having loved how we had managed such a glorious but cheap day out.

Now am resolved to write a to-list as once again fear work getting out of control - and - to be honest - I'd rather enjoy life. Another diary side effect I fear :)

Oh well done! I'm already looking forward to the next show to go hat shopping (mine is 10 years old, possibly justified?)

I'd love to go to Hickstead one year, although eventing is more my thing!

Well I've never been interested in jumping - but now Handsome Baby is learning who knows :)

Hat shopping - there was a fab Charles Owen stand and I had a chat with them and the upshot was I am to take my new(ish) Charles Owen hat back to them next month or to a stockist with a qualified hat fitter and get it padded slightly should fit me perfectly. Happily the hat I hankered after does not fit and cannot be made to fit so that was very moneysaving :)

Just off phone from bank GRRRR! Made an overpayment on 3rd June to clear a mortgage sub account and the bank had not applied payment to any part of the mortgage just left it "on account". Monthly interested not recalculated either. Now I discussed this with them Saturday and they were going to call me this today - and - they did not. So rang them to find all this out. They are apparently going to "deal with it" tomorrow and promised they will recalculate interest as clearly that has been overpaid though it took some explaining to get the dumpling on the other end of the phone to see that......

Another day, another call to the bank and they confirm they have now applied last overpayment to mortgage rather than leaving it 'sitting there'. Hurrah!
Will up date totals when I see it in black and white :)

Not much to report other than lots of work taking place here although did pop down to Mr Watty's dad's cottage as dad is in hospital at the moment. Collected his mail and cut some roses for flowers. At last flowers back in house, and they smell gorgeous. Took pictures of the greenhouse we have put up for him whilst he has been away. Hopefully that will encourage him to think about coming home.

En route saw a cottage giving away courgettes so picked up 4 of those and made a small contribution to their charity box. May make them into soup for freezer later this evening. Also need to pick and freeze more strawberries and do the ironing.
Gorgeous day and would rather be out riding handsome baby.

Spent the evening doing house stuff and set about a bit more decluttering. After start of year efforts am surprised there is more to do which is why I started the count but this evening a coat hood I never use (87) a plastic container full of smoked oak chips for bbq so old that the add nothing to the bbq but dust (87) found and cleaned a compost bin so can do a spot more recycling (88) found a photo frame in a chest of clutter which got missed in the year's efforts and have now used that to frame photo of Most Handsome Gelding winning that title (89) and threw a couple of products in the 'use' stash away that I really didn't like (90)

And giggle of the day, I thought I was really looking very tanned and realised that the serum I am using up is clearly not entirely just a serum :rotfl: Must go and pick up reading glasses that are at opticians waiting for me :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thats so funny. I got a free sample from superdreg of antiageing cream, slapped it on and realised when I got to work that it was tinted! Nothing on the label at all.

Glad its not just me :)
Finally the bank have applied the money that was just 'sitting there' to a mortgage and now sub account 2 is completely cleared 16 years and 1 month early :j :j :j

And :j :j :j with the emergency savings pot and the ISA we could clear most of the mortgage. But, as am self employed I've been working on retaining 2 years money as a buffer as I am reasonably sure I am unemployable, certainly don't think I could find work locally that will pay as well and allow me the flexibility to skive as much :rotfl:
