Ah yes, I can relate to that. I have a marble topped dresser outside my small bathroom that has a single cupboard door on it. Inside are two plastic storage boxes that I rarely get out. A winter list job is to go through these and get rid of loads of stuff, (including the wrong brush heads for a long-gone electric toothbrush!) - having reduced the two plastic collapsible crates down to less than one over the last couple of years.

I was helped in my task by a junior carer charity that offers respite weekends for young carers. They would invariably arrive with no toiletries so all the hotel pick-ups, and gifts of stuff I would never use, went off to them. I have a couple of 32 packs of toilet rolls to drop off (I top up my big river subscriptions with these, so I get my 15% off the more expensive items) - the foodbank say they are really useful  as it isn't something that people think to pick up. I was hoping that they might be associated with a night shelter that could take "tried once, not used since" toiletries for their bathrooms, but it seems this foodbank isn't linked

I've donated some stuff and have more to donate too.

The ex has been in touch with the letting agent again, bullying her and threatening court action. She apparently just laughed.  I'm shaking my head at how I felt on Sunday and comparing that to how I felt when ringing to apologise for his actions and to discuss a plan.  I've had an email from his solicitor via my conveyancing solicitor.    My conveyancing solicitor just forwarded it but I feel sick at the "here we go again merry-go-round" of more letters and him running up legal bills for me again.

I wonder when I will ever learn that this is now the real him.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

I thought the property situation had been resolved?  Do you actually have to respond?  You must be so !!!!!! off, but need to realise that the person you see now has always been there.... just did a really good job of hiding it when it suited him. ((((hugs))))
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy

Running up your legal bills is an exs form of enjoyment/control.  My ex was with a woman whose best friend was a solicitor, can you imagine the fun they had!  Over 30 years ago and most of my over £5k bill was for mine to reply to letters.  Don't let the b*****s drag you down.  Just remember a leopard does not change its spots.  For leopard read a******.

Deep breaths Watty, soon this will all be seen in the rear view mirror with a new, happier vista on the horizon.
I'll say! Pot! Kettle!! Xx Edited to say that you would never do anything fraudulent.   Sorry if it seemed I was saying otherwise @watty1
  • Sorry that you are still having to wait to get the final legalities sorted. I do sympathise, having endured such a wait myself but the peace of mind when it goes through is worth the wait. Hope it all proceeds quickly now.
