This Time I'm Really Going To Do It

Local council have been in touch. They say I am jointly liable for the period I was renting but can have single persons discount from August when I moved back here. I'm thinking over what to do.
Charity should hear back soon, was to be not before today but hopefully this week after today.
Today I reported ex for harassment to the police. Womens aid said it was the lesser offence. I'm waiting for someone to call me back.
I have dusted myself down and am back in the game as it were. Everyone in my life is amazing both on here and in real life.
today was much improved by tea and cake at the coffee shop
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

You are amazing @Watty1; we are simply responding to the awesome woman you are love Humdinger xx4

Well it sounds as if the council have accepted that a big chunk of the bill is not down to you, I just hope they chase the ex (why oh why do I automatically think his name is Idiot?) for his part of the joint bit. Very good that you have the 25% discount as well, that will bring it down even more. What a palaver though when you already have enough to do.
I am hoping to have time while I am in the area for a tea and cake with a friend next week, amazing how many problems seem easier to deal with after that. Shame we will be in Essex or you could join us for a horsey chat!Credit card debt - NIL

2022 all rolling into new mortgage + extra to finish house. 125,000 End 20363 -
The council are using that cringe worth term "jointly and severally liable" Still onwards and upwards, I managed to sort the bank I am sure in time I can do the same here.
Tea and cake would be lovely. I've just arranged to have similar with a friend this morning and cancelled riding lesson with most handsome because I think the ex is removing wood and chain sawing etc by the arena, at least that is what he was doing yesterday and his car is parked by it today although he is not about.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Lovely tea and cake with friend in her new house yesterday. It is gorgeous, well it will be in time. Tiny, beautiful views to the back and so much potential. I was excited for her. Lovely to be with 5 girlfriends too.
After a bit of a rest I feel a little restored. I think creative options are needed. I am now working on these. I have a few options to explore now.
As part of this I am going to have to embark on a whole house declutter. Put a piece of machinery back up for sale. Added £100 to the price and still have some interest so glad for the price inflation. Have emptied a cupboard of vases and "stuff" and have weeded out 8 small vases and 2 candlesticks. The candlesticks were a 50th birthday gift from a dear friend but I've never really liked them. Last week bought a gorgeous pewter pair for £2.00 in local charity shop so I'm losing the guilt over swapping the very expensive pair for the cheap pair. Oddly I don't want to sell them just donate them so later today will find something to wrap the vases and bits in and put in car to donate.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I sometimes sell and donate the proceeds to a sort-of relevant organisation (eg when I sold some of my nan's things they went to Alzheimers UK, my dad's to the local animal rescue charity that he fostered cats for, etc)I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £203

Sounds fab @Watty1...living well and having fun are so important and don't have to cost a lot; or in fact anything! Love Humdinger xx2

In the spirit of living well and having fun I have finally got a Book Club off the ground. I tried to find one I could join but there didn't seem to be one that I could make so I asked friends and got a group together. The local library will provide the books and we will take turns to host the club. Meeting once a month and totally free other than tea etc when hosting.
I asked the librarian to help select the books as I think that will challenge us to read books we would normally not read. As I usually read free books on my kindle I think this will get me back into reading well written and enjoyable books. Really looking forward to it.
