Yes I can apply to the courts to force the sales. £35,000 estimated costs and another 18 months. The £35,000 is likely to rise sharply once he starts. The costs will eat up all the money I have so barely worth it.
Signed up for the Frugalwoods July challenge Need to get very focused. Especially as have found a small mid terrace 11 mins from the field with the horses. it isn't the best of areas but the house is nice enough and i was thinking i could use the sitting room as the office and use the kitchen / dining area as a living area. The house has recently been renovated so is empty and vendor wants a quick sale.
I have been honest that i have been turned down by the mortgage broker, but, my accountant has suggested someone who might be able to help and take the Ltd Company profits into account too so waiting to hear.
If that fails I have also, on the advice of friends spoken to the almshouse charity in the village as my rent has gone up and i cannot mentally cope with sharing the house with an ex who refuses to settle. I honestly explained my position, that I am leaving the village I love because I cannot afford to stay and that in the opinion of Womens Aid my ex is abusing me emotionally and it counts as domestic violence. Most people who apply want a house for life but I explained i just want one until my life turns around. There are three new one bedroom places being built in the village and applications open next month. Apparently I have a good case so if the mortgage application fails then I will apply for a charitable house.
Nothing has changed but there are possibilities opening up and I feel that I need to be open to anything and everything that comes up as a potential solution now.

Sounds as though you have decent plans in place. Keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out quickly and positively for you. XX
I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

@Watty1 dearest you are right to explore all options. You know that we are all here rooting for you. Being in limbo is very bad for you; you are doing the right thing taking control as you remove his emotional power. You will overcome. Love Humdinger xx0

Thank you both. Still no news from mortgage broker. I will ring at the end of the day for an update so i don't spend the weekend worrying.
Am busy at work, horses (for those that like horse news) fatter than ever! Also have read how to clear bracken and so far with a strimmer and a lawnmower I have cleared a sizable chunk of the field. Facebook village pages provided a couple of ton bags which I'm filling with the cleared stuff. And have had help learning how to reverse trailer in field so i have managed to get the roller out and fill it up with water. Once the bracken is cleared then regular rolling should over the next few years weaken it sufficiently. it was that or get a pig. I quite liked the pig option but I have enough to deal with at the moment without adding a pig to the menagerieMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Lovely weekend. Invited two girlfriends for dinner Friday. Served a side of salmon i found in the freezer at the cottage with salad and potatoes, so cheap to provide, drank a lot too much wine, put the world to rights by the bottom of the bottle I was invincible LOL
inevitably hung over Saturday but still spent the day pulling ragwort and clearing bracken from the field. Clearing the bracken will clearly be a long term project but have already cleared the size of a small turnout paddock and loving it. Now to hook up the roller to the tractor and regularly roll to keep it crushed which should eventually weaken it so it gives up.
Off this evening to a music festival locally for a spot of Mozart in the village hall, again will be a nice catch up with friends so looking forward to that.
Lovely afternoon today drafting letters to ex solicitor. One concerns the horsebox which i am in the process of selling. I have agreed the sale to someone I know who is kindly giving me a contract to prove the sale and allowing me to use the lorry whenever I wish if she is not using it. She will not be charging me for this, but, of course this unusual contract means the sale has to be at a very cheap price. Cue long letter to solicitor explaining I can no longer afford to run the lorry as it has been expensive to put through the last two MOT and the insurance costs have risen. I will explain I have been fortunate to secure an excellent deal which provides me with a lorry to use over the next few years and that i have therefore accepted the price she has offered and I will enclose a cheque for his share of the sale at 50%. He will gain £50 It is not a lot but of course he too can use the horsebox if it not in use by the new owner. I sense there may be some outrage at this deal partly because he hasn't got much money for his share of the lorry but at least he will be free to use it if not in use by new owner. (a) he will never contact her and (be) if he does I am sure she will find a use for it and best of all his solicitor will charge him for reading said letter and forwarding my cheque.
Rather happy with all of this.

The way he’s been with you, if you don’t return them to him, he will probably use it against you at some point down the line.»The road to DF is long and bumpy » Greensaints3
