Although a Smart dealership in Germany once had my car for 4 WEEKS without even looking at it to tell me what was wrong with it!!!! Have I mentioned that I hate mainland Europe?!?

Nice surprise awaiting me in the post when I got home - I applied for an updated tax code for hubby to allow for laundry of his uniform (I only found out about it through this forum) and it came in this evening! Whoop! Should mean a few extra pennies in the pay packet!

Welcome, welcome to October! September is gone and what a productive debt busting month it was: I reduced my overall debt by 6.66%. That is money I will never owe again (mortgage excepted) and it feels so good to be careening towards financial freedom. This month looks set to be another successful debt buster and I know at the end of it I will be closer still to kissing goodbye to the debt, the worry, the stress, and the creditor slavery. I am so ready!

For the first time in I don't know when, September saw me set up ISAs for me and hubby. Didn't put a lot in them but opening them felt good and seeing the first few pennies (literally!) of interest dribble in felt pretty darn amazing. HOK3Y is definitely going forward!

So here's to dropping under $20k in October, putting a few more pounds into the ISAs, clearing my solicitors bill entirely mid-month, and reaching Halloween only to look back and know that another month has passed and I am in a better financial position than when it started.

For all of the lovely cyber friends I have made here, I wish you a productive debt-reducing month. Enjoy the falling leaves, the cooler days, the comfort foods of autumn - the simple things that make life worth living. Happy October - let's go debt bust!

Wow Hok...I am in absolute AWE of you....Reducing your Debt by that much Percentage is amazing....and opening an ISA and putting extra pennies in is WONDERFUL...

Oh thank you so much for that, DH - so very kind of you. I am working it as hard as I can and I hope along the way a little brightness will rub off on a few others because there is enough darkness in debt already! I will endeavour to remain perky and upbeat regardless of the situation!

On an VERY upbeat note......I received some money today......and I've just paid all of it over to my debts......and while it will take a day or two to have exact figures, it will put me under $20k for the first time since we bought our car over 2 years ago and the lowest level of unsecured debt since I married the d!psh!t of an ex!!!!

Now THAT is one heck of a start to October!!!!

Long day in the office but heading for home, PJs, and a mug of tea. Ecstatic over my signature and looking forward to trying to drop it under $19k by the end of the month.....gonna hit it as hard as I can!

Well yesterday turned into a fruitful day! Stopped at Asda's on my way home for a few basics, came home and found another receipt from there in the back of a drawer. The 2 receipts then netted me almost £3 in vouchers!! I also found 2p on the floor while shopping and I won £2.50 on lotto plus 5. Even treating myself to a pot of tea was free as I had points on my Costa card.......which I finally registered last night and got an additional 100 points for doing so. Guess October is off to a great start!

Well, I have some final bits of jewellery that I am going to sell today so that should give me a little bit of a bump. I have a couple of things to list on EBay and really do need to just get off my @r$e! I'd like October to be a super debt buster although I can foresee a couple of things that might derail it if I don't push hard. It amazes me how you think you're on track, think you're doing so well but there is always something unexpected and big around the corner. Well time to expect the unexpected! Just got to prepare for every month as if there will be an additional £400 expense - because it always seems to happen!
