Dead darn-tootin' right, crimson! Yeah I reckon we can squirrel away £50k+ if everything falls into place by Dec 14. You are right in that I will end up with more if I try than if I don't.......it's a hell of a goal though! Well, it won't hurt me to push myself hard.......right, think I'll update my signature and aim for 538,001 ten years from now - and a millionaire in 2033!!!! I'm doing it - I am, I am, I AM!!!!! Thanks for the encouragement and the push! :D

  • No point aiming for a goal you could do without a lot of effort and pushing so why on earth not aim that high! As soon as I'm out of debt I too will be making an obscene target and then doing all in my power to bloody well get there!!

If it means being a self-made millionaire through ebaying and bake sales then so be it! Yarr me hearties!

YAY Silly!! Well link arms with me and we'll walk this crazy path together! Got a feeling a lot will smirk and say we can't do it but we will choose to believe and think positively! It is amazing what happens when you truly believe. That whole 'be careful what you wish for' thing - well I'm wishing for half a mil in 10 years and I'll be happy to have some company on the way! x

  • I think i'll have to aim a lot smaller but i think i'm going to aim to fill my ISA in the next tax year, thats £110.77 a week on top of any spends  I am also aiming to pluck up the courage to ask for a pay rise which will help but i have no clue how to go about it

That's a great goal, crimson, and very doable with some determination.....which you have by the bucketload! It's always scary to ask for a payrise. Make a list of everything you do and have done that is above and beyond your job description. Tell your boss why you deserve a payrise and give them examples. It's tough right now out there I know but there are definitely firms who will look after good employees. Very, very best of luck. X

Well it's Friiiiiiiiiday!!! Less than 10 hours stand between me and the weekend and those 10 hours will likely fly by and be very productive so bring on the day! I have a lovely weekend with hubby to look forward to as he is off too which doesn't happen often. Happy, happy days!

Hope everyone else is looking at a good day and a relaxing weekend. Happy Friday to you all and best of luck pinching those pennies today! :)

  • well done for making your September goal HOK3Y!!!

I think it's great being able to make an extra 300 quid a month - i just wouldn't be able to trust myself with gambling! :)

Although I'm starting to consider a weekend job again to boost my personal income!

Super news about having the OH for the whole weekend - have you got something special planned? Or should I not be asking? ;)

Hiya C-R! We have promised ourselves a walk through Nidd Gorge with a picnic. Hubby loves to walk and is all about the simpler things in life. He's the kind of guy who makes the best of his situation no matter what and he's awesome to travel with as he finds enjoyment in everything.

The matched betting isn't about gambling so much as controlling and manipulating the situation to always end up on top. I've made a couple of mistakes which cost me about £30 a time so they were good warning shots that the wrong click or two can cost you so I am very careful now but I think I have it down. I don't do anything risky, and I don't keep a lot of money in my exchange to float so I have to do it in small steps now - less chance of losing a chunk of money with a mistake but it means I'm pulling in small amounts everyday rather than larger (£25-£50) chunks. Just feels wiser to me. I do not want to find I can't pay my rent because I got carried away and hit the wrong thing!

Let me know if you find a weekend job - there are some good ones out there. It's worth checking your local recruitment agents' sites also as they sometimes have part-time jobs or evening jobs in your field that are better than minimum wage. Good luck, C-R! x

Urg! What a day! One of my girls lost her cool today and left me no choice but to pull her up on it. Well, that's what you get when you call one of the partners who pays your salary a !!!!!!!! For the love of God and everything holy! You would think that someone approaching 60 would know better! Urg! And do you think she knows she did wrong or feels remorse? Nope because she's at that age where she feels justified saying what the hell she likes!

But you know what? I'm on the train, headed for home, my pjs, and a steaming mug of tea. I'm going to put my brain to a matched bet or two and forget all about it until Monday!!
