Ohh I like those - do they do them with a 10cm heel? They'd go wonderfully with my dress.....

You might have to get a longer dress...

I'm shorter than the dress is long they'd be absolutely fine with it. :D

Shouldn't your dress be "right sized" as they say?

Or is this a "dancing on tables" dress? ;)

The petite range was a couple of inches too short, so I bought the regular length one which is longer so I need big heels to stop myself falling over the hem.

Of course we are - 2"+/- means a dress looks ridiculous or ridiculous....

Got my Aussie Uncle and his partner (he's not married her, they say thats why they're still together) visiting at the moment, weirdly Dad is cooking 'proper' meals and we seem to be getting through large volumes of wine.

Am also sadly feeling very jealous as one of her son's has a bloody fab job which I'd love working on one of the relatively high profile marine action group boats - although she's worryingly proud of his having been arrested 4 times this year in 3 different countries!

I take it the "weirdly" doesn't extend as far as the "getting through large volumes of wine" ;)

Is your Dad not a fan of proper cooking?

High profile doing what? Only thing I can think of the Aussie navy doing (and which is in the news) is to do with illegal immigrants.

It doesn't matter what he's done - getting caught is just amateur.

But I'm a girl (genetically) I have to look....

Generally at home food is of the mainly preprepared chuck in to the oven at 180c for 20 mins variety.

Nope not a government organisation, think more charity type action groups.

From what she said the getting caught is part of the plan, arrests = publicity. publicity = donations and awareness.

Must be making a nice change for you then.

Aah...when you said "marine", I was thinking "Marine".

So why do you think getting arrested for a living is a bloody fab job then?

I look like a girl, I have the genetics of a girl, I tend not to act like a "girl".

What competition? I'm frikken awesome and if a bloke can't keep up/is scared/doesn't get it thats his problem. ;)

Of course that's why I'm single and (according to my 21 year old male staff member) old.

The arrests part not so much my idea of an awesome job, but the day to day stuff, which sounds to be a decent mix of science both ashore and on the boats, raising awareness through education and demonstration and the direct action stuff which is getting them arrested over various marine life/ecology issues.
