Looked at my travel choice and decided to book myself in to a hotel for the night before my training next week - the M62 is horrid at rush hour so for £34 staying the night before less than a mile from the training venue to make sure I get a decent nights sleep (or just a hangover as the hotel is a pub too).

As for the getting paid thing - mainly the usual apprehension about the first salary payment from a new job.

    That's fair enough.

Normally the worst that normally happens is that you end up paying a lot of tax until they process your previous P45.

True. It's bad at the best of times but rush hour is so much worse. Of course the question now is can a Lancashire girl manage not to cause a riot in a pub in West Yorkshire?

Also true but given everything else hasn't quite run to plan it wouldnt have surprised me if I'd had my pay delayed one way or another.

I found "in snow" to be worst of all. Especially whiteouts. They're fun and exciting. Really... ()

Yup been there on the M62. Interesting when the weathers anything less than calm, and cloudless.

Just had a look on amazon to see if the shampoo and conditioner I like is any cheaper there at the moment than in the shops, apparently it's back on Subscribe and Save so have ordered one of each for under £6, and hopefully when I run out it'll still be on s&s as last time it'd been dropped from the offer. At the moment the same size is in the supermarkets at around £5 a bottle so a decent saving even if it's not still on s&s when I'm running low. Paid for it with vouchers redeemed this evening from instagc.

Home from the work training day, mostly useful, parts totally irrelevant. Just need to put it in to practise at work now.

Need to work out how to submit my expenses claim for the travel.

That wasn't covered on the training?

Nope, this was a fairly specific training session which didn't cover working out the idiotic staff 'social network' which includes the online payslips and expense accounts.

Oh good grief. That sounds like someone's "fond idea" that grew and mutated...
