Best of luck with the Christmas shop. I'm not looking forward to it at all but I do have some stuff already. Hope you find some bargains and smart thinking with hubby's gift. This money saving malarkey is pretty darn cool!

I know I'm really looking forward to it, but also pretty nervous too!!
I'm really excited to have a MSE Christmas this year. I'm trying to be organised and I saw on the weekly email that there was a section highlighting where to get cheap baileys!! I'm going to try and do a lot of the Christmas grocery shop throughout next month so I can take advantage of the offers as and when they arrive.
If the halloween baking goes to plan then yes I'll put them on there, however what I've got planned involves a lot more decoration which is a skill I'm learning so if they turn out good I'll post them, but if they look rubbish then hubby and I will just eat them in secret!! :rotfl:
Feeling rough as anything today. This cold will just not shift, it seems to get a bit better for a day and then hits me all over again. I'm meant to be going to visit a friend this afternoon for a catch up and to pick up some shelves she has said I can have but honestly I think I just need to go home and get into bed. Was very jealous of hubby this morning when he came home from work and was getting ready for bed as I was leaving for work!0 -

Hello All!!
Sorry for my absence I have been poorly since Thursday last week and am only just coming back into the world! Feeling much better now though.
Bad thing about being poorly is I go into comfort mode. This means I have ended up spending money when I shouldn't have! Naughty. Comes in total to about £35 but £20 of that was petrol and £7.85 for prescription (SHOCKING!!!) so not a huge overspend. I've paid a further £61.05 and £22.67 to my CC and have £107.19 left in my bank with payday on Thursday. I need to get some ingredients for halloween bakes and will need a couple of £s to buy a drink on wednesday when I go for my modelling weekend so I'm going to use the £7.19 for that, leaving £100 to go to the CC. That will take me to 19.98% paid so I need to find another £1 to hit my 20% target!!!
I currently sit at 17.91% paid!! Woo hoo!! And my credit card will be under £2000 by the end of the month!
In other good news I've just checked my survey spreadsheet and I've got £249.40 tied up in them at the moment. I'm close to threshold on 3 sites so you never know I might get some payouts before the end of the month.
Hope everyone else is doing well!0 -
Morning all!!
Thank god tomorrow is payday and we are nearly out of this wretched month. I've massively overspent this month, dentist, new car admin, feeling poorly and treating myself when I shouldnt!! Grrr!!
Anyway on a positive note I have paid a further £70 to my CC today and my total for October currently stands at £342.71 paid. I need to bring this up by £8.25 to match my SOA so hopefully should be able to do that tomorrow. At least that means I'm still on track.
Got my meeting tonight for the modelling I will be doing for upcoming bridal shows so I'm really excited about that, pretty nervous too though!! Hopefully it goes well and will be good fun.
Have a great DFW day everyone!0 -

Thanks HOK3Y. I have some good news on the 20% front but will save that for the big round up I'm going to do in a minute.
Modelling meeting was great. I'm going to be doing a cat walk show on 10 November and possibly a few more shows in February and March. It's not paid but it will be great fun. :j0 -
OCTOBER ROUND-UP
So another month draws to a close which means it’s time to take stock and see what has been achieved this month. My initial impression is that this month has not gone as well as the last, we incurred some additional non-budgetary expenses, but the good news I’ve covered them and still managed to reduce my debt. I’ve been plagued with a cold that still hasn’t gone away 100% and this leads me to want to comfort myself with treats. I must resist!!
Anyway, enough blabbing, onto the numbers!!
October Challenge Round-up
*NSD Challenge*
I set myself a target of 15 and narrowly missed this only achieving 14. I’m not too upset by this but it definitely can be better. I know from September that I can manage my spends to do well on this challenge. Where I’ve fallen this month is when poorly popping to the shop everyday to buy myself a little treat and having to pay prescription charges on what would have been a planned NSD. Still moving forward I’m going to set myself the target of 15 again this month.
*100% Challenge*
I started out this month determined to hit 20% and there was even talk about aiming for 25%. As we’ve come closer to the end of the month hitting the 20% seemed less and less likely. However on clearing my bank account today so that I can start fresh with this month’s wages I’ve just managed to make it and am on 20.16% paid!! This means I paid off 7.16% of my debt this month!! I’m going to aim to hit 28% in November. Definitely achievable.
*Sealed Pot Challenge*
Right I’ll confess, I am useless at this. The problem is I just never carry cash and I’m awful at finding roadkill. I think I’ve put the grand total of 5p into my pot this month!! However, I see this as less of a challenge and more a long term savings plan. When the pot is full (probably in about 20 years time) I will crack it open and we will use it to treat ourselves on something.
*Make £100 a Month*
Did good on this month, finishing up on £118.55!! Woo hoo! I’m going to continue with this and do it again in November. The majority of my money will come from surveys but I will also eBay as and when I can.
*Surveys*
I know this isn’t a challenge but thought it was worth writing up my progress on these. This month I have cashed out £60.50 in a mixture of cash and vouchers. I currently have £256.07 banked in the sites waiting until I hit the cash out thresholds. My best sites this month have been Toluna, Valued Opinions and OpinionOutpost.
October Payments Round-up
*Credit Card*
Paid in August: £101.01
Paid in September: £433.70
Paid in October: £320.37
Total Paid: £855.08
*Loan*
Paid in August: £0
Paid in September:£44.63
Paid in October: £44.63
Total Paid: £89.26
*Overdraft*
Paid in August: £0
Paid in September: £13.94
Paid in October: £16.52
Total Paid: £30.46
*Total Debt Payments*
Paid in August: £101.01
Paid in September: £492.27
Paid in October: £381.52
Total Paid: £974.80
So even though I felt like this month was a struggle I’ve still made a significant impact on my debt. I’ve nearly paid off £1000 in total and my credit card is now below £2000!! I’m confident that November should be just as good as this month if not a little better. I have got to watch out for the temptations that Christmas shopping brings but I know the plan so I’ve just got to stick to it!!
Hope everyone else has had a successful October and lets bring on November!!!0
