Indeed we have HOK3Y!! It’s absolutely brilliant! So pleased. However I have realised today that they haven’t put in the split rear folding seats we ordered so need to call the dealer later to get that sorted. Bit annoying but overall the car is lovely and it’s great fun!!

Ok so time for the weekly round up. This has been a pretty expensive week. The dentist being the main big expense. But hopefully that should be me done on the teeth front now until my next check up in 6 months time. I’ve got my final veneer appointment next week but I’m fully paid up so don’t have to pay anything then. We’ve also incurred a few of those annoying admin fees with our car insurance company for the new car but what can you do.

I did some baking this weekend. I made a chocolate torte and also made homemade pizzas for me and hubby on Saturday night. They were delicious!! I’ve still got some left over as well because they were so big. We did end up having our Friday chips because by the time I had finished the weekly shopping there wasn’t enough time to make them Friday night so I did end up spending on Friday, but it was worth it and only £4.80.

I also failed miserably at getting my 5 ebay items on. After all the car excitement and getting the household chores done, I just didn’t get round to it. I have however identified something to sell which if it does should go for over £100 so I’m going to list that tonight.

So onto the challenge round up!!

    NSD Challenge

Not off to a great start on this one, having only achieved 2 NSDs so far. As explained above we ended up having chips on Friday and on Saturday I had to post my step son’s birthday card and a thank you card for my Mum & Dad which came to £1.48. I can’t believe that a first class stamp now costs the same as it does for me to send a card to Cyprus! Crazy!! Anyway I’m certain of a NSD today and should be able to manage another 3 this week as well.

    100% Challenge

Still love this challenge and after making the minimum payment for my CC today I am up to 16.08% paid. I need to make another £178 of payments this month to hit my 20% target. This will be tough due to the dentist costs but definitely do-able, especially if I get this big sale on ebay. I should also have a few survey payouts this month as well which will all help!

    Sealed Pot Challenge

Still going on with this. Only put 5p in this month so far, but I haven’t had any cash in my wallet and I completely failed miserably at finding any roadkill at Tesco on Friday. I must have looked like a crazy lady though walking round the shop with my eyes down, scouring every corner!! :rotfl:

    Make £100 Challenge

So far I’m at £10, which was an Amazon voucher payout from one of my survey sites. With the item I’m listing on eBay tonight I’m really hoping that by next week I will have smashed the £100. I really do need to make the effort to list things on eBay though. For some reason the motivation is just lacking! I do have £1.05 in my paypal account to move across, which will also be added, I’m just waiting to receive feedback to make sure everything is ok with the sale.

    Debt Paid to Date

I made a mistake with my August payments on my last big round up so below is the actual correct ones! Doh!

    *Credit Card*
    Paid in August: £101.01
    Paid in September: £433.70
Paid in October so far: £112.93
    Total Paid: £647.64

    *Loan*
    Paid in August: £0
    Paid in September:£44.63
Paid in October so far: £44.63
    Total Paid: £89.26

    *Overdraft*
    Paid in August: £0
    Paid in September: £13.94
Paid on October so far: £0
    Total Paid: £13.94

    *Total Debt Payments*
    Paid in August: £101.01
    Paid in September: £492.27
Paid in October so far: £157.56
    Total Paid: £750.84

So that’s the current position. I would love to get the total amount paid to £1000 by the end of the month. That means paying a further £249.16. This is definitely do-able but will mean really focusing on the budget from here on and thinking lots about wants and needs. I also really want to get my CC under £2000 by the end of this month.

Hope everyone else had a lovely weekend and got some good debt busting under their belts!!

You can do it, you can do it!! (It took all my strength not to add, "if you B & Q it...!!!") :D Great round up and I bet you hit £1,000+. We still have 3 weeks until the end of the month and I cannot wait to see where we are all sitting at that point. We should all be considerably better off than we were Oct 1st. Whoop! Keep going!

Glad the car is great and booooo to them forgetting your seats. Hope you get it fixed without a problem. X

    Hello Diary!!

Sorry I’ve not been updating I’ve been soooooo busy these last few days and last night I was feeling really tired and bleurgh so couldn’t be bothered to do anything!!

The last few days have been pretty positive on the debt front though. I’m at 4 NSDs for October and think I’ll definitely have another 3 this week. Hubby is really on board with the NSDs and we’re keeping an eye on each other to stop those sneaky trips to the shop for stuff we don’t need.

I’ve also had a bumper couple of days on the survey front. I’ve cashed out on a few sites the last few days and in total since I started at the end of August I’ve cashed out £75.75 from surveys. £50 of this is in Amazon vouchers which I’m saving up to use for Christmas presents.

I got my expensive item listed on eBay on Monday and it’s already up to £45, I’m pretty confident it should go for over £100 or very close to it anyway. I do need a kick up the bum though to get the smaller stuff listed.

Hubby is doing well in his training for his new job. It’s quite hard work he says and there is a lot of maths involved which is new to him but he’s getting there. Once he’s fully trained he will be moving to night shifts permenantly. Still not sure how this is going to feel when it arrives. Part of me is looking forward to having some space at home but the other half knows I will miss him terribly. We’ve already promised to make an extra effort at weekends to do stuff together so that the time we do have is special.

Planning for a NSD today and maybe tomorrow as well. Hound and I are back to agility training this weekend which is going to be awesome!! I’m really looking forward to it. Hopefully we’ll get a few sessions in before training has to stop for the winter.

I’m on track to hit the 20% this month I think. I’m tempted to really shoot for the stars and try 25% but I don’t want to feel let down if I don’t make it. To get to 25% I need to pay a further £415.50 from what I’ve already paid this month. I’ve got around £200 set aside already and hopefully £100 from eBay so would need to scrounge up another £115.50 to hit 25%. Hmmmmm….. maybe!

Did you ever list your old car on eBay? We sold a car on there this summer for lots more than the scrap yard was going to give us and it was bought unseen so no-one came round looking at it beforehand. We got over £400 for it!

    Hey HOK3Y,

Yes old car will be getting listed. I just need to wait for the number plate transfer to complete before we can do this. I won't be using that money for debt repayment though, it will go into our Grand Prix spends fund for next year. Finger crossed it goes for more than the £130 the scrappy offered!!

Having such a boring day today!! Ugh!! Not long now though and I'm off to do the weekly shop. Got my baking planned for the weekend too which I think will be a fun bake!

Looking forward to Friday chips later and I've kept £5 back in our grocery budget so I can buy us a cheap DVD to watch tonight!! We'll have a lovely mini date night.

    Bored..... Bored..... Bored......

    Hello Diary

Been having a few busy days over the weekend, so not had anytime to update on here.

After the most boring day ever at work on Friday I went and did the shopping. I needed to get some new cake sandwich tins and found the ones I like on offer at hobby craft, then I thought I wonder if they have an online club where you can get money off? Turns out if you sign up to their newsletter you get a 15% voucher off your next shop either online or in store. So I signed up, printed off my voucher and ended up getting 3 sandwich tins which should have cost £25.47 for £14.43!! Proper bargain, so well proud of that! Did the grocery shop and must confess to buying a few non essentials which put me over budget slightly. However they were very much enjoyed and it wasn’t huge amounts over so I’m not beating myself up too much.

I ended up using the £5 I had set aside to buy a DVD at blockbuster so we rented 2 films for 2 nights for £5. We watched the new Star Trek film and Ted. Plus we had our Friday chips so it was a really nice mini date night for me and hubby.

Saturday saw myself and the hound return to agility training which was brilliant. It was as if we had never stopped going. Hound was straight back into it and was an absolute super star. He worked really well and had a great time with all his doggy mates as well!

I baked the most ridiculously large cake on Saturday evening and I’ve had to bring the rest of it into work as hubby and I will never get through it all! It was a fun bake though and I got to make meringue buttercream which I’ve never done before.

Sunday was an early start for us to watch the Japanese Grand Prix. 5:45am to be exact!! Still we enjoyed the race, even if Lewis did have to retire early on. Hound wasn’t too impressed at being out of bed so early though! We spent the rest of the day chilling at home, reading, playing games and watched a couple of movies. In all a lovely chilled out Sunday.

So onto my weekly round up!!

    NSD Challenge

Not going as well as last month on this one, but I’m up to 6 NSDs and predict another 4 this week. Dog agility meant I had another day to spend on which I haven’t had before. This week I have college on Tues which will be a spend day, meeting a friend for coffee on thurs and our usual Friday chips. Other than that I do not forsee any spending. Fingers crossed!!!!

    100% Challenge

Not progressed much on this on but have made a couple of small payments to my CC which has brought me up to 16.18% paid. To hit the 20% I need to pay another £184.60 (up from last week since I had my figures wrong! Doh!). This is well within my grasp unless there is some kind of emergency between now and payday. To hit the 25% I need another £426.50. This would be tough going. I think I can find around £260 of this today, leaving another £166.50 to find. I haven’t got anymore high value items for ebay so need to get listing lots of the smaller stuff to get me there!!

    Sealed Pot Challenge

Still going with this but nothing new added in ages as I just haven’t been carrying any cash! I will take cash to college tomorrow so hopefully I will have some left over change from that to go in the pot!

    Make £100 Challenge

I’ve done really well on this this month. Largely due to survey payouts. I’ve got £50 of Amazon vouchers and just cashed out £2.50 in cash today, bringing me to £52.50. My item is ended on eBay tonight and is currently sitting at £62 so hopefully we’ll have a few last minute bids to bump it up!

    Debt Paid to Date

    *Credit Card*
    Paid in August: £101.01
    Paid in September: £433.70
Paid in October so far: £127.84
    Total Paid: £662.55

    *Loan*
    Paid in August: £0
    Paid in September:£44.63
Paid in October so far: £44.63
    Total Paid: £89.26

    *Overdraft*
    Paid in August: £0
    Paid in September: £13.94
Paid on October so far: £16.52
    Total Paid: £30.46

    *Total Debt Payments*
    Paid in August: £101.01
    Paid in September: £492.27
Paid in October so far: £188.99
    Total Paid: £782.27

To get the total paid to over £1000 means another £217.73. I will definitely do this for sure. I will also definitely get my CC under £2000 which will feel awesome!
