Good morning, making christmas cards got me all christmassy. Made a gingerbread flavoured coffee this morning
.
Its raining so will stay mainly in and maybe do some crafting with the wee man and make more cards. Also found a stash of cheap ones from last year which will be good enough for neighbours and work.

No not old blue eyes - Duncan Glendinning, he's cofounder of The Thoughtful Bread Company. Its quite mse really, he's all about how to make your own bread thriftily with no need for expensive gadgets, just decent flour and off you go. I found out about The Real Bread Campaign too, again make your own because its cheaper in the long run and better than a supermarket mass loaf as no preservatives to make it last a week, no colours to make it appeal etc my kind of thing.
They made a sourdough starter in a concrete mixture and gave out a cup to everyone so we could all have a go. Mines called Bob and he's currently sat on the side in the kitchen chillaxing.
Anyhoos off to the cheese & pickle festival then picking up a job lot of furniture from a workmate who's just moved house for a tenner!! V excited
Have a good Sunday everyone0 -

Oh yes there will! Just keep an eye out for a new thread of a dubious name with me underneath it. Will be published around the 28th October to get you geared up and ready to go! :T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Morning everyone!
Huge apologies that I am not managing to check in every day. Since we went back to school I have been absolutely snowed under often working from 6.30am-5.30pm at school and then coming home and still doing a couple of hours work at home too after I have fed, bathed and put to bed the 4 children! Hope it eases off a little soon as will never make it to the end of term at this rate!!!
Being busy however means that I am managing to keep to all budgets as can never get anywhere to actually spend!!! Have 8 NSD under my belt and can't foresee anything over next couple of weeks that should cause me to over my budgets. Basically if we haven't got the money I'm telling the family they have to wait till next month!!!
Having a quiet day at home today as the weather is so grotty. Gives us a chance to get on top of all the jobs and housework that isn't even getting looked at during the week.
Can't remember who was saying about making xmas cards yesterday but I have been thinking about xmas too over the last couple of days. Usually I absolutely ban any discussion of xmas until at least mid-November, but then on the other hand I usually end up putting xmas spends on a credit card. So....... with that in mind I have started a xmas saving jar - I have 3 pay packets before xmas so going to try and save something from each wage packet to go in jar. Determined I will only spend what is in the jar this year. Sat with hubby and two girls this morning and discussed how we were going to have a thrifty xmas this year and how we needed their ideas and help. Made a list of everyone we HAD to get presents for and started writing down thrifty and crafty present ideas. Lots of great ideas and projects for the next couple of months. Youngest daughter who is 8 still believes in Father Xmas but she said all she wants from Father Xmas this year is a slinky!!!!! Eldest daughter who is 15 and also very on board with the money saving wants a book from Father Xmas. My twins are 20 months and Father Xmas is planning to bring them a big box filled with colourful helium balloons! Determined that this xmas will not stop me from paying another big chunk off the credit cards!!!
Anyway - off to find bits for quilted patchwork cushions which the girls are going to make for their grandmas.
Happy Sunday everyone!

YIKES need to be careful on the food front.
Had to shop yesterday, £40 at supermarket. Had a list, picked things then had to put them back. Could have spent £100.
Yipee, I have got myself another part time job. So that will really help. I could pay £500 off debt a month now. When I find a full time job I will keep the Saturday job, so could then pay £800 a month.
So much for government telling us we are coming out of recession. I haven't had a pay rise for years, only hours cut. I've been looking for a fulltime job for nearly a year now.

Littleskintdragon -CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Welcome to the world lil man!!
Had a great day geocaching yesterday- found 6 with my friend. One of them, she had to lift me up to reach into a hole in a tree where fake cone was hiding (natural geocash!). Trying to look 'normal' whilst loitering in random areas trying to find them was hilarious- highly recommend it!
I used the Yates voucher from here and bought a coke and got free burger and chips (I had burger taken out and had a chip butty), then went to cinema with a 2-4-1 voucher I had with bf and friends. So lil spend day yesterday!
We've had a house-full today for a family gathering (exhausting) so I'm looking forward to getting into my pjs, and for the first time ever- I'm looking forward to (x)factor. My friends are on it: 'Next of Kin' - so makes it all the more interesting!
Cuppa tea, tv with my ma and some popcorn tonight, lovely!
Hope you have all had great weekends!!:coffee:
