until they do have visible dirt or smell, same will all clothes except pants, socks, tights, bras etc

I wouldn't wear the same outfit to work two days running and I can't recall any of my colleagues doing it either. I may wear black trousers/skirt but always wear a different top.

True. But I think I'd rather err on that side! I don't need to wear clean clothes everyday from a smell/dirt perspective, but I certainly do from a mental perspective (as in I need to know I'm wearing clean clothes).

Me too, as I said earlier, it's a confidence thing. If I do wear the same trousers 2 days in a row they'd definitely be washed overnight and a different top and cardi/jacket worn.

My OH has a pile of clothes which he thinks is OK to keep on the landing in some sort of laundry 'no man's land' between clean and put away in the bedroom or dirty and in the washing basket. I just gather them up and wash them regardless and if he says 'where's my black T shirt?' and I say in the wash 'but it wasn't dirty!' Well it should have been put away then!! These are clothes he only wears around the house mind, not going out ones or work's uniform.

I wouldn't ever wear any kind of clothes twice without washing inbetween but I probably look scruffier than most people here because my 'blacks' are 'greys' on account of the amount of laundering they go through (and lack of ironing muscles!) :rotfl:

I've twice worked with women with body odour problems and both of them were very stylish dressers who probably wanted to eke another couple of wears out between dry cleans but I'd rather look a bit rumpled and be nice to be near

work wear, underwear and tops 1 wear. trousers 1 wear as tend to look creased, jeans 2, 3 wears max, but only as i dont have a lot or would be daily. I like to feel fresh in nice fresh clothes. i couldnt put the same top on twice. pj's a couple of nights but i cant sleep with them on as too warm so only worn for few hours to lounge in each night. I feel dirty/unclean if im not showered daily and hair washed (hair tends to look manky if not washed daily for some reason).

kids have had a bath every night since birth (the odd night without if been out etc) and clean pjs every night, they could prob get 2-3 nights from them but theres something nice about clean fresh jim jams. bedding is weekly.

As someone who irons for a living I know if a customers clothes have been washed or not, not just by the smell I can tell by looking at them and the texture of the material.

We have one woman customer in particular who I think is a financial advisor or something similar she always wears these dress suits from next, she is a fortnightly not a weekly. But she always sends the dresses and jackets when you look at the dress it's very obvious it's not been washed because of the creases from when you sit down. We've been ironing for her for the last 12 months and I still don't think that this dress has been washed yet.

Last night I worked because it's my birthday today so I could have the day off. I sorted out a customers ironing out of their laundry bag and ironed it got to a pair of pj bottoms and there was blood in the crotch. Now I know my job is to iron them but there is some levels I'm not going to that is just disgusting so I put them back in the bag to be sent back to the customer for washing. I find it disrespectful when people don't wash their clothes and expect me to iron them.

Most of our other customers wash their clothes so why can't the rest of them! Some customers we even wash for as we have a guy on his own. It doesn't cost much to be clean!

I can't imagine why anyone would iron clothes that haven't been washed, much less send them out to be ironed. Now that seems really weird to me.

Found this thread a real eye opener. Still shocked that someone would send clothes to someone for ironing that hadn't been washed. To be honest I don't generally count how many wears things have as it depends.

Generally work things are tops clean everyday but trousers a couple of days but I have three identical pairs. Undies are all changed daily sometimes twice if hot weather or if I go out in the evening tend to change for that too.

Jeans and things not really sure as just know when they need to be washed but only wear them for a couple of hours as always get changed when I get home from work.
