The putting clothes away when they've been worn thing is confusing me too. If people wear things twice does it always have to be the next day then?? If not, where do the clothes go?

its confusing me too...in our house if its clean its in the wardrobe,if its being worn its on your back....When its taken off it either goes in the washing bin or on the chair at the bottom of the bed for another wear....simple

Aargh - clothes on the floor just freaks me out. No need!! OH had a bit of a floordrobe habit when we first met but I really don't think he'd dare now.

Clothes are either away, being worn, or in the wash*. There's no part of the laundry cycle that involves leaving stuff on the floor to wear again later.

I can't help feeling the 20th Century invention of washing machines was supposed to release us (particularly women) from relentless drudgery. What is has done is make us create 5 times more washing and ironing.

Not in my world. I just gave away my iron on freecycle:)

Jeans or leggings might get worn upto 3 times. Tops and underwear get worn once and pjs two or three. Anything that can be worn again doesn't get put back in the wardrobe they get hung up on the outside of the door for the next day.

No, that would be silly. Who wants to turn up at work wearing the same outfit they were in yesterday?

At the end of the day, I think back on what's happened that day - have I been hot and sweaty or, like most days, has the shirt just been worn to sit in for 8 hours in an air conditioned office....Have a quick sniff of the thing when I take it off, make sure it still smells fresh, if so, stick it back on the hanger and in the wardrobe for next time.

I'm not going to have the thing get crumpled on the back of a chair somewhere just because I fear my other clothes getting some kind of cooties from it :)

What's wrong with wearing the same thing to work two days running or more?

I reckon it looks lazy, like you're not bothering to make an effort.

Of course, that's just my opinion...

It always amuses me on TV programmes when great play is made of people wearing the same as yesterday. :rotfl:

I didn't interpret the question about 'where do clothes go if they are to be worn again' as being to do with them ponging up other clean clothes. Isn't it more about having a system to separate things that have been worn and things that haven't - to avoid wearing the same item half a dozen times because each time you get it out of the wardrobe you think it is the first wear, and then it goes back in the wardrobe for another wear and then next time you get it out you think it is the first time....etc? :)

If you are wearing the same item two days in a row you wouldn't have this problem but if you are not planning to wear it again for a week or so it could be easy (if you have a lot of clothes) to forget it has been worn once and to treat it as a 'first wearing'.

I thought that was what the question was about.

    Hope that makes sense...!
