I dont have a nexus but my last Android update added a drop down tile menu from the top of the screen
with flight mode,data etc

Not possible in stock Android, if you want to, you'll need a Launcher such as Nova. Search Launcher or Nova on Play

Try a Widget App, search on Play for Switches or Toggles there are lots of free ones. I use HD Widget although there is a small charge for this one.

Just asking, because on HUKD the theory is that there is a lack of 8GB models.
I ordered a 16GB yesterday lunchtime, and it was loaded onto the Parcelforce van this morning.

When I placed the order yesterday - mine too said "dispatch by 10 Sept."

It's a bit rude they charge you £9.99 for 1-3 working day delivery when they know they have a shortage of phones.

If you can stretch the extra £40 - I would say that you're better off all round, cancelling and reordering a 16GB.
It'll futureproof you (to a certain extent) in terms of memory capacity - plus you're likely to get the phone quicker too.
To be honest, I'm not sure that there'll be a huge amount left of either flavour - but it seems that the price has certainly shifted the 8GB stock very quickly.

theres a story going round today the 8Gb is sold out, and no more stock will be coming in
