I do a Christmas Eve hamper for my little ones, I have my OH knock on the front door about 4pm, leave the hamper, then leg it round the back while the kids open the door.
In it is reindeer dust, a reindeer shaped party bag with hot chocolate and marshmellow, a gingerbread Santa, a personalised letter from Santa,a Christmas bedtime story, some Christmas bath toys, new pyjamas and a DVD to watch
    Skint, but happy (ish):p

I love our Christmas Eve hamper and make one every year :D

As I am expecting and due in January I think I am going to make couples Scottish themed food hampers as we have 4 couples that we buy for and it will save me having to think of individual things :o

    So far thinking:

    Shortbreads
    Oatcakes
    Various traditional sweets
    Jam
    Fruit cake
    Tea

There will be other things including some fresh things like cheese, salmon etc Next week I am going to put out four boxes and then get something for them each week.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!

A few years ago, did a 'favourite things' hamper for someone. It looked really random as it had biscuits, bubble bath, wine, mints, tights etc, but it was all of their favourite products and they were delighted.

    Hi everyone!
Getting thinking about this years hampers now. I do love shopping for them. :)

I'm thinking about doing a BBQ hamper for my husband. We've just bought a decent charcoal BBQ (after using disposables for a while!) so was thinking I would get some accessories to accompany it. So far I've thought of the following:
Fold up table to use next to the BBQ in the garden
    BBQ rubs/marinades
    Beers
    Beer bucket
BBQ cook books-ordered some from Book People
    Burger press
    Metal skewers
    Dip bowls
    Napkins
    Plastic plates & cutlery
    Tool hook
BBQ glove-do you think a silicone type glove is better than a mitt?
    Metallic trays
Pizza dough mix-got a pizza stone and want to try making a pizza on the BBQ. Yum!
    Tray
    Divider plate
    BBQ lighter
Some nuts to nibble on while the coals are heating

I know poundland have a lot of this stuff in at the moment, so will buy it before summer ends! If anyone has any other suggestions, or knows where I can get a bargain on any of the above, that would be great!

I will add that we've already got a cover, apron and BBQ tongs/flipper.
Thanks in advance for any ideas. :D

What a lovely idea. Very thoughtful! How about popcorn to eat while watching the DVDs? Seems to be some gourmet flavours about at the moment. Spotted in tesco recently. Savoury ones.
    Hot water bottle?
If they're likely to eat out a few times a year, maybe a Taste card (£30 for a year) to get discounted meals?

amysb86-I was in B&M today and I saw a heart shaped tin with hearts design on it. Think it was a couple of £s. Thought it might go well with your couples theme to put the biscuits in.

Had to join in on this one, I'm making hampers for the first time this year, christmas food themed to see them through the christmas period with nice yummy bits.
So far I have made christmas chutney, cherry and cinnamon jam, home made bailys type drink, making spiced cider and going to make nearer the time christmas cake, gingerbread houses, fudge, shortbread, chilli jam, soap, Irish coffee ingredients, hot chocolate ingredients, they all have a cup with a pic of our little boy on and I will put in a small present for each person :-)
