    Washing on line
My laptop says that its battery is getting to the end of its useful life - will it need replacing or will I be able to use it plugged in anyway?

You should be able to use it just fine while plugged in, my old lappy is 5+ years and still goes strong as long as its plugged in. I only recently discovered that you can take the battery OUT, plug it in and it works fine, plus it doesn't as get hot. I don't know why but it blew my mind a bit?!

Too many "plug"s in that sentence, I'm sorry. So so so so tired.

OH still snoring, has done all night. I have got up, threatened "no screens" if the fighting continues between my boys, WU their breakfast mess, WM on and taken the empties to the front door do I don't forget them later. Can't believe it's walk of shame time already!

Once everyone is up I'll put away last night's ironing and get the lounge back to rights, then I'm bossing the boys into tidying their room and girls into vacuuming and dusting through. I need to write a list for packing and tidy my bedroom as there's stuff and paper everywhere.

Picking up my wedding cake this afternoon :D

Hi we're in although will be out till later. But I have no ironing :T and very little laundry.

Thanks Valli and thanks to Natty and DK for keeping the thread going. It's lovely having like-minded friends <3

ETA maybe we can start a personal challenge? Just read the end of last weeks thread, well done Valli for going solo, and confidence vibes to deco for same. Hmm. What shall I do? MIL has said I should arrange something for Tuesday nights as she usually stays over after swimming and she'd be happy for me to go out in the evening - I had thought maybe starting yoga again...

    Manic Monday
    15 Minutes

    [STRIKE]S&S in the bathroom.
    Wipe over sticky areas
Wipe the loo (different, dedicated-to-the-loo cloth for the outside)
    Bleach round the bowl[/STRIKE]
30 Minutes - as above plus
    [STRIKE]S&S in the kitchen
wipe over the worktops and taps
    empty the bin
    wipe the handles[/STRIKE]
1 hour - as above plus
[STRIKE]run the vacuum over high traffic areas
    empty all the bins[/STRIKE]
peg out some washing - let it blow dry!

    Ruby Tuesday
Bedroom antics! Main bedroom (yours!) or one in dire need!
    15 Minutes?

    [STRIKE]Clear that floordrobe.
Vacuum as much of the carpet as you can easily access[/STRIKE]
    30 minutes?
    [STRIKE]Dust every surface
    Polish those mirrors
Dust the headboard if it's solid; vacuum it with the upolstery brush is it's padded
    wipe the switches[/STRIKE]
    1 whole hour
    [STRIKE]Strip the bedding[/STRIKE]
get that duvet on the line outside to air in the sun
    vacuum and turn your mattress
    [STRIKE]dust the skirting board[/STRIKE]
    Extra challenge
pick a drawer and sort it. Lets have some order and no holey knickers, laddered tights or anything else LLA (left lying around) if it's past it's best it needs to GO!

    Hump Day! Wonderful wiping Wednesday
    love your lounge!
    15 minutes?

    [STRIKE]Open windows
think about where you sit - and ensure that the most irritating/annoying/niggly area in your line of sight gets some lurrve...clear a hotspot![/STRIKE]
    30 minutes?
    [STRIKE]dust everything you possibly can
wipe those light switches[/STRIKE] and ICKY remotes and any other sticky spots
    if it's a whole hour
[STRIKE]then FULL MONTY - bring out the big guns - whatever equipment you need and tackle that floor; moving furniture if you can
don't forget the skirting board - if you've got it, it needs dusting[/STRIKE]

  • Morning all x

I've decluttered OH to the airport at 5am to drop off a pal. Then had to declutter him again at 8am to his work, honestly he's worse than the weans. DD up, deragged and decluttered to school ditto DS2 but without the rags.
So far I have had the dogs out and made coffee.

My pal phoned last night to let me know she will be home tomorrow. She's been working away and I've had her dog. I love him to bits but as much as I love labs I'm never having one. I'm sick of brushing him and the house is full of gold hair that sticks to everything. I've not even bothered to put the Hoover past while he's been here as I'm using it so often!

Once I've finished this coffee I will make a start.
    HHC at 9.30 anyone??

    Great idea!
I've started going to a dancing class again. DD has ballet 6-7 on a Tuesday and the mums class is on 7.30-8.30. I never go out on my own past the corner shop so its been a big thing for me. Totally enjoying it though!

After a wonderful 2 week honeymoon I'm back into flying this week. Thanks for the list Valli

We've been back since Saturday so all unpacked but laundry mission still ongoing. Today involves meeting friends for a picnic and hopefully going for a run later (need to get rid of honeymoon weight gain!). I will do some of the list and try to get the ironing done. WM is on now.
  • Morning all

I'm in this week, didn't achieve much last week but my kitchen is still shiny so I'm happy with that. I'm "working" from home this morning, providing emergency email cover for our Irish clients who don't have a bank holiday , poor souls. I could, and probably should, be using this time to catch up on some outstanding work and have a bit less stress tomorrow, but instead I'm ripping my cd collection and transferring it all onto my phone. I've been meaning to do this for months and since I'm stuck in the study all morning I may as well get on it.

Valli, can I get your banana loaf recipie? I did a wee bit of baking yesterday but we sat and munched it all. Slices in the freezer will do nicely for next week I think.

Hi, well I've been lurking again for a while but have decided to stop being rude and say hello.

House is looking pretty clean thanks to the threads and it is great distraction from my MA writing - hope you don't feel too used!

Anyway, I will be trying to keep with the list again this week and have a number of must get round to do jobs like arrange dentist appointments etc.
