Glad you are a bit calmer now FizzWhizz, loving the idea of you giving the stepmother superglued cake!!!

Took a car boot full of stuff to the dump. Felt really good doing that. Weeded a bit of the garden, s&s kitchen and bathroom, made tea and washed up, scrubbed my beautiful brown sink and drainer with bleach. Cant wait to see the back of that when we redo the kitchen. Will hoover in the morning I think.

Chilling on the sofa with my doggie and the telly now. Kids are outside somewhere and hubby is in the shed shuffling things around. Enjoy whats left of the bh all.

12 litres of fence paint decluttered on to the fence!, still another 15 panels to go, but my arm hurts, so enough is enough for now.

Loads of plants cut back, and it a large heap to go to tip tomorrow.

Chicken curry cooked with rice and eaten yum yum.

Considering ice cream as a treat, but tthat means going to the shop and I really don't think I can walk that far atm, from all the fence painting, I am cream crackered

After a wonderful 2 week honeymoon I'm back into flying this week. Thanks for the list Valli

We've been back since Saturday so all unpacked but laundry mission still ongoing. Today involves meeting friends for a picnic and hopefully going for a run later (need to get rid of honeymoon weight gain!). I will do some of the list and try to get the ironing done. WM is on now.

    Congratulations and welcome back!

A great idea - I do most things on my own, I'm doing a dress making course at the adult ed centre starting mid September, think nothing of getting on the train to go up London, but going to the cinema on my own has been my everest.

I've had a look on my local cinema's website and About Time is showing next Weds & Thurs so *deep breath* I'm going to go to see that.

    Thank you

    :T good for you!

We've had quite a full on day here, so I'm no further deciding what to do for "mount me" but I will consider this carefully ;)

Fairly tidy today as mostly been outdoors. Still need to move rug back into LR, and then the blue one in the garage can come out for a wash later this week.

FIL is here :A and will take littlies off to daycare in morning, I have an early meeting and need to be out by 6am. But I've only Tue/Wed to work then I'm off until 9th sept :T poor gramps has been jumped on, sulked at, and coated in lipbalm (none of this by me, you understand :p) but he has also been given a fish finger butty and I'll get him a beer in a bit.

Right. My pack up is ready, kids clothes are ready, so I might go have a shower and wash my hair...

    Hi everyone

Haven't been posting much because I can't do much in the house atm. Every time I turn round there's a different tradesman working where I want to be. Today the electrician came so I had to move big boxes from 2 bedrooms into the bathroom and pull up carpets, so that he could lift floorboards and take out the old centre light fitting in the lounge below and replace it with two separate fittings (to spread the light). Then the plasterer turned up at about 3 pm, when we had been expecting him early this morning, so he's only done 2 half-days for us this weekend instead of the promised full days  - though I suppose I shouldn't begrudge him a break on the BH :o

We got a surprise invitation this morning to a picnic lunch with DS1 and his family at their new house, with the request that we look after the DGDs for 15 minutes while DS1 and his wife sorted out the shower doors. Happy to oblige, of course! DGD2 celebrated her first birthday last week and is now walking unaided - so funny to watch.

This afternoon I have had a bit of a tidy up in the front garden, digging up huge dandelions and trimming back the Japanese quince. It will look better when DH has done at least 2 more trip runs tomorrow - he had been out this morning and got rid of everything except a few pieces of wood, but he has been clearing out his garage this afternoon and found more stuff stashed away from when we demolished some cupboards and wardrobes just after we moved here, which he has now decided not to keep. And the plasterer had to take all the plaster off one wall in the lounge because it was about to fall off by itself and couldn't just be skimmed over, so that's another 7 plastic crates full of the stuff to be disposed of. Deep joy!

Tomorrow will be spent tidying round, moving furniture, and remembering to put out mugs and kettle for yet more tradesmen (carpenter coming to hang new doors on Wednesday; garden gang arriving Thursday, plasterer coming Wed and Thurs if we're lucky) and packing up to drive to Sussex on Wednesday to visit a friend, then spend 2 nights in Surrey with the dinosaur-loving duo, alias DGSs 1+2. I shall need all the strength I can muster to cope with them and DH on Thursday...

    Bonnes vacances, Dusty!
Will be thinking of you on Friday, Fizz - have a wonderful wedding day!
Hope you feel better soon, LW.
HB, I'm very pleased that Mrs Dog is so happy.
    Welcome home, Pigpen!

Hugs, spoons and sticks to all who need them.

What you been shouting at DD2/BF for piggers? being nosey :p

Just been talking to FIL, its 2 years ago today that DH was first admitted to hospital. It was the bank holiday Monday, he had a CT scan and the consultant saw us at about 9pm saying "there's nothing sinister to report, but I would like to keep him in and do an MRI" and assured us he couldn't see any tumours.

I really need to try not to get caught up in the "this time last year" thing that I did this time last year (IYKWIM) because I think that's what sent me doolally. Hopefully DS starting school will be enough of a distraction.

Anyway, I am clean, my hair is clean, and I'm ready for bed for an early start tomorrow. So I shall say "bon nuit"

    X
