Tried to pst this morning, but it threw me off.
Sold two lots of stuff on eaby overnight, brill.......had to take the car to the garage the rear brake light bulb had blown, they replaced it free of charge, had a quick look at a roomster they had for sale, we cannot afford to change the car yet, but one can dream.
Been to the lottie this afternoon, picked 3lbs of strawberries, dug up another couple of shaws of spuds, earthed up what was left, picked some rhubarb and almost finished weeding the onion bed, next time we go I will finish it and then water with a liquid feed, its time they were starting to bulk up a bit. Put some more slug pellets down, there were hundreds in the pot with the clematis and quite a few had been tempted by the pepper plant, uuuuuuuggggggggghhhhhhhhh I hate the damn things.
Was to have been egg and chips, decided instead to do mushroom and chive ommlette, with a few chips and some more of the rhubarb crumble.........I put some powdered ginger in the crumble, its lovely, sometimes do the same with plum crumble, gives it a bit extra 'bite'.
Right off to drink my coffee...............see y'all later..........
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Hiya all :j

I haven't been on all day, my new job has net restriction in the office, so now MSE for me at work no more :( wil have to do some work for once :rotfl:

had my first day in my new job today, wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but then it is only the first day, will probably get worse as the week goes on lol

4 days of no smoking, go me!! It's easier then I thought it would be actually. I only having to use gum now and again, and I was a pretty heavy smoker, so impressed with myself that I'm handling it so well.

Anyways, need to get on and catch up with the lack of internet I've had all day :rotfl:

    Bye for now

    Hi all :hello:
I'm back................ :D Did you miss me? I tried to post a couple of times last week - fingers crossed that this gets posted today and the connection doesn't crash!
I'm feeling really "flat" at work at the moment. I don't feel as though I'm "with it" and can't put my finger on why. It happened for the whole of last week and thankfully today I had my PPA time this afternoon, so at least I could be "flat" elsewhere!
It was DH's birthday at the weekend, so I took him up to the Lake District to stay in a hotel that was simply divine. It was his only present (other than the Life on Mars box set that I got with Ipoints :D), but we both really enjoyed it. There was a festival on there over the weekend, with various bits of street theatre. One in particular that we saw yesterday ensured that DH was up at the front doing a bit of YMCA, with a couple of other people that were plucked out of the audience! :rotfl: You had to see it......... :rotfl:
This Friday it's a "Report Writing" day out of school. I'm hoping that my reports will all be written by Thursday night because on Friday I'm going to see George Michael in Manchester. :j :j I just can't wait! My friend's OH had got her tickets to see GM, but then realised that he couldn't bring himself to go to see it - so I was offered the ticket! I'm getting into Manchester early on Friday afternoon, so I think that a bit of mooching around the shops is in order before my friend finsihes work. In order to get the cheap train back on the Saturday, I'm getting a later train then too. More shopping. :j :j A little bit of a false economy with the cheap train fares, I fear. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should head from Piccadilly or Oxford Road stations for shopping? ;)
I've done the weekly shop tonight, which means that supper is a yellow sticker quiche, with some new potatoes and peas (which I'll have to put on in a minute).
    Bye for now.

Aussie - hope you OK after your walk. Glad to hear you are enjoying NI. How is the wee dog back home?
Icecube - good for you with the smoking. I stopped just over 4 years ago. Had an odd one over the years but determined no more as I was a very heavy smoker. I must confess I still chomp the odd bit of nicotine gum! Are you using anything to help you?
Jamie - glad to hear you are feeling better. When DD, DGSs, DSIL and I had this in February it caught us all I am afraid - the upside was it was only a sharp 24 hours!

I know I have missed out quite a few of you. I had a post-it at work with various little notes to say tonight but somehow it disappeared this afternoon.

Today has been the worst day of my life to date, got a message just as we came out of hospital in aberdeen from mum to say she was at dr's with lo with a broken arm, he had somehow managed to open the stairgate at top of stairs and fell down and broke his arm.

He was taken straight to a and e where we met them, lo at that time had already had morphine and calpol for the pain, went off for xray, broken at the elbow, was due to go to theatre at 6 to operate as it was quite a nasty break and has to be asap.

Dr did explain but i didnt take it all in, he mentioned k wires that they could put in, either just manipulate them in or if that didnt work they have to cut into the skin, all under anesthetic(sp) then will have plaster on for 4-6 weeks then after that will have to go into theatre again to remove once it has sorted itself out.

Also need to go for weekly checkups to ensure everything is ok and to have xrays.

I am in complete shock, had a cry once the 2 boys went to bed, twink is really upsat and shocked, bad enough if it happened with us but when with his granny she feels awful that this happened.

The gate was slack the other night, he managed to open it yesterday, asked dh to change it but he just tightened it which he got me to check, it was secure enough i thought.

The gate is a babydan one, and under 1 year old i think, so am really upset/angry this has happened and both me and twink agree that a strong letter of complaint is in order to the company! is anyone good at writing these types of letters?!

Also need to find a very secure gate for when he comes home, which could be tomorrow night or the next day.

I wish we had taken him to aberdeen with us and that dh had changed the gate, we have all said that while a broken arm is bad at least he didnt break anything worse, just not worth thinking about!

Waiting for dh to phone with news on how lo got on at theatre, really really worried, wish i could have stayed but needed to see to ds1/ds2, kids are upset a bit, ds2 was very quiet on way home.

Am going down first thing to see my wee man, to give him hugs and kisses, going to really miss him tonight.

dlb- sorry to hear of your loss, hugs

    Susie

    Hi everyone!

    N9eav Happy Anniversary!
PP Yes I agree about DR Who, it was fab. We love it here and will miss it when it finishes.

It's been really hot here over the past few days, but we're loving it. I changed all of the duvets yesterday and put on the summer ones and we've dug out the fan. We've been eating most of our meals in the garden and we even managed an impromptu BBQ and it didn't rain as it usually does when we have one!
Yesterday morning DD1 (age 10) played her saxophone with the band during the church service for the first time. I had a huge proud parent moment as everyone was amazed at how good she actually was. :D
Unfortunately after that, DD2 (age 6) nearly broke her finger as the skateboard that she and her friend were sitting on ran over her finger. I took her to the local hospital and they didn't think it was broken but her nail is hanging off and is strapped up until it does (yuk). She then came home from school today with 2 huge dressings on her knees as she'd fallen over at playtime!
I actually made it to the gym today and broke into a sweat! I then gave the house a good clean and broke into another sweat!
We had veg/ham lasagne with potato wedges and fruit salad for afters. The sc is on at the moment with tomorrow's meal in it...Irish Stew! Not the best choice of meals for hot weather but they were planned last week and I refuse to waste the food. I'm not going shopping until Wednesday as I'm working a full week next week and I want to avoid going to the shops until after that. That's the plan anyway.
I need to drag my two in from playing outside for a bath as they're both very hot, sticky and mucky.
    Have a good evening!
