Morning all from very hot and sunny Belfast (and it's not often you get to type that!:D )
Very messy weekend here. A few weeks ago we got gas heating installed that meant that we could get rid of the oil tank. So we can now extend the patio into the space and eventually get a greenhouse:j . But all patio installers are tied up till Sept so we decided to DIY it. So for the last week we have been excavating the tarmac. However there was also a lot of concrete that dh has had to cut with his new toy - an angle grinder - and you could not believe how much mess and dust that made. I now have a ton bag of sand sitting in the drive, 35 new flags just delivered onto the patio, a building site at the back of the patio and a husband who's about to go to America for a week! Still waiting a week is better than waiting till September.
Had friends round for a BBQ last night - so lunches have consisted of leftovers. The kids have taken chicken wings and potato salad, dh has cold sausage baps and I shall have the last of the potato salad, maybe with some bacon.
Dinner is fried (leftover) potatoes and sausages for the kids as dh and I are out for a works dinner. Also have to go into town - so I'm thinking of walking in (2.5 miles) and getting the bus back in the interests of greeness, fitness and money saving:j Also need to collect the bike we have chosen for ds2's birthday - we decided to go to the local bike shop rather than a big store and found a lovely Caterpillar bike reduced from £159 to £99 - bargain. It's his first new bike as he's always had pass ons from ds1 before now.
Happy anniversary N9eav

We're still waiting for our house purchase to sort itself out. Silly solicitors and mortgage companies. Grrr. Once that's done we can start to get back to normal again in our own little house. After we sort the curtains and the carpets of course. All our furniture (and most of our stuff) is in storage at the moment which is a bit of a headache, but I don't think it will last too much longer....I hope.
So whilst there's not much OS I can do at the moment.....once we're in I'll have so much to do I'll need to grow 10 extra sets of arms and legs.
Little one is fine. She started to show her little temper a bit more....boy has she got one. She dropped a toy...I didn't give it back but moved her to a different toy. She then stood there and stamped her little feet whilst crying her eyes out. Bless her.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Good morning all
No news to report DMP wise but i have had a success story already today.
A few months ago I purchased a sat nav system (pre LBM). It devoloped a fault so taday I took it back to the store I brought it from. I had the receipt but it was purchased on my old account which is no longer valid as i have changed bank accounts. They started off saying that I could only have an exchange as the account for a refund was now different. The sat nav was now on special offer and was reduced by £25. When i mentioned this i asked if I would get a refund of the difference. I was told no that i was only entilted to an exchange. Any way to cut a long story short I stuck to my guns and demanded a refund and asked to see a manager. After being told that there are no exceptions they made an exception and refunded the total cost onto my new card and account.as i did not want to purchase another sat nav from them.
3 things to point out.
1... Always keep a receipt
2...stick to your guns
3...mention the consumer credit act. Their attitude changed when i mentioned that.
Confession to make. I will be buying a cheaper sat nav as i got lost on the way home :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: .
God that was a long post so i will wish you all well and hope you all have a good day

Morning everyone!
Gosh I'm tired. DH woke up at 4, and got up cos he couldn't sleep. I couldn't sleep waiting for him to come back, just dozed a bit. Had an earache and/or sore throat, and found it difficult to sleep properly. Finally got back to sleep at about 7, and didn't wake up til 9.30. I feel really groggy now.
We are/were planning to go away for a couple of nights - we have a narrowboat - but the weather isn't looking too bright. Have to decide soon as need to ask neighbour to come in and feed the cats.
Need to go shopping for a few bits and pieces, and need to go to the gym. I've put on 2 pounds, which is a combination of wine, shepherds pie, a gu chocolate pudding,a takeaway chinese. Won't be helped by tonights planned roquefort souffle!
Will be raspberry picking again later, hopefully enough for another batch of jam.
Oh I need a kick up the b*m to get me going. I;m going to make double espresso I think, then get started.
Aime The pigeons have been at our cabbage too. We planted red cabbage, but one of them turned out to be a green or white one (I have no idea how), and the pigeons have been eating that. Think we'll have to put some netting up.
Snowy So glad Teddy turned up. Our boy got hit by a car last year, and I always get worried when ours fail to appear now.
<DLB>sorry to hear your news.
N9eav Happy wedding anniversary.
Hugs to anyone else who'd like one. See you soon.

Hello everyone
A very happy anniversary N9eav  - I hope the weather wherever you are is better than here in West London - overcast and minging
Off in a while to do two short surveys then on the way home will do some shopping as my fridge is totally empty! Luckily I have several supermarkets close by and I can target each for the best price of whatever I'm buying. Even in their organic veggies section they have varying prices.
Other than that, my housework is done so I'll have the evening to myself, apart from doing my reports online.
One of the budgies (the yellow male) is a bit poorly and he's getting on, so I hope this is not a sad goodbye in the offing...:(
See you all later! :wave:Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Morning everyone :j
Huge congrats to N9eav - we'll be celebrating our 9th Anniversary this year - so you've got 10 years on us
Well done Scuzz on the RFL :T
Well I'm at work again, and I've lost my voice  It's my own fault though, I was at Wembley on Saturday night screaming along to George Michael (who was fantastic BTW), not only have I lost my voice, but I ache and my feet are covered in blisters. It was worth it though, I was right at the front, about 5 people in, I was so close I could nearly touch him
Anyway as a result OS went out the window this weekend, and I need to do oodles of washing/ironing/cleaning etc  Dinner tonight will be lasagne and salad, with hopefully enough left over for tomorrow's lunch.
I made the microwave flapjacks yesterday - and they were fab, just like the shop bought ones - will definately use that recipe again - thanks to whoever posted it.
Anyway better dash - ((((((hugs)))))) to everyone
Quasar - hope your budgie is okay. We had 2 of them, a white one and a blue one - we put them outside in their cage for some fresh air, and a neighbouring cat knocked their cage over, one escaped and the white one was badly damaged and died in my arms a few hours later. I know they're only budgies but I was really sad.Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Hi everyone!
Had the best weekend ever at the Wimborne Folk Festival and have come back feeling invigorated and with loads of dirty washing:D Loved all the different styles of dancing but my favourite has to be the Border style morris dancing..the lot we saw were completely mad!! Also had a 3 hour concert with 4 sessions...thought before hand that I'd never be able to sit that long as am rather a fidget bottom but the time flew by. My pins now ache somewhat after the barndance Sat eve. Also managed to find a few bargains on the hippy stalls including a new skirt for a fiver and earrings
to match for £1:j
Now it's back to reality with a bump...washing has been done but a big pile of ironing awaits me this evening. OH is doing a stirfry tonight as the meal I'd planned needs eggs and I've run out!
Hope you're all fine and dandy!
Aril
