Afternoon :hello:
Had a very busy weekend and spent all morning in a very dull meeting, so am feeling a bit sleepy! Hugs to Crazychik and SnowyOwl re the sleepless nights! Hugs also to catowen and Penny-Pincher!! and anybody else feeling rough, and to dlb.
Last week was completely and utterly manic: one work deadline, three operas, two concerts (one as an audience member and the other as a singer, in which I strained my voice switching to the soprano part as eight altos showed up and only two sopranos!), one beer festival and one party!) Consequently I am in need of a rest and am glad I have very little on this week besides work. I am going out on Thursday and Friday evenings, I've got an easy mystery-shopping job on Wednesday, an opera review to write from last week, and church choir on Sunday - but other than that I am free *phew* and will be spending my evenings watching the heats of Cardiff Singer of the World on BBC4. There's lots in the freezer so I won't need to do any real cooking until after I've been to the market on Saturday.
I hope to choose a new laptop this week too. Am so sick of mine switching itself off every five minutes. Hopefully I will find a nice Dell deal and buy it through Quidco or Pigsback.
I was very proud of myself yesterday for spending a whole hour in TK Maxx and managing not to spend anything, but unfortunately I got a bit of a wake-up call too - I tried on two pairs of size 16 trousers and neither of them did up   - so I think I'm off to the Arms to sign up to Murphy's No More Pies Club. I've got out of the habit of walking to and from work - I must start doing that again. I'm even going to challenge myself a bit more at the beginning of July - my annual travel ticket expires on 01/07 and for various reasons I should be able to make it work out cheaper if I leave it a few weeks before renewing it. So for a couple of weeks I will be walking whenever I can, and hopefully cycling a bit too. I refuse to join another gym when I know I won't go
Right, back to work...
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Rzl I know what you mean. Just got back from the chemist and while we were there DH & I used their height/weight machine. Wish I never did. I have put on 6 lbs since I've been here. I knew I had put on some as all my jeans/trousers are tight.
Unfortunatly my height is the same.
DH has put on lots more which was a slight comfort to me.
Aril & Stress Glad you enjoyed the different concerts you attended. Although George Michael isn't my cup of tea.
TiredMum Jumping in the pool sounds great to me atm. Just been for a good walk.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Hi Y'all, I was surfing over lunch time (as you do) and came across this photo of the village where I live. It doesn't look quite as pretty today tho with all the low hanging cloud and misty murk.
Just thought I would post it for any OS'rs who like to be nosey! LOL
I'm off to read the thread proper now! Enjoy the rest of the day

Hello all, long time no post
Didn't get to sleep last night until nearly 11pm, as some other people who live in this building were using my mobile phone to contact one of the staff about trouble, so had to be woken up to get to the doctors this morning. Went back to bed afterwards and only woke up an hour ago.
Since then tidied my computer desk and dining table ready for tomorrow, and made some lunch of cheese sandwiches. Later on will be going to Asda for food shopping/pick up prescription, cleaning the kitchen half of the room, and borrowing the hoover to get the flat ready for my solicitor coming tomorrow. No washing to do as all done yesterday, and I think tea will be pasta and home made sauce.
Congratulations N9eavPurple Penguin Power!

Hi everyone,
phew it's hot here at the moment, not much housework done today as I've had 2 lots of visitors and my GD from nursery.
Aril glad you enjoyed the Folk Festival, we love em they're great fun. Only got Shrewsbury booked this year, but might go to Beverley next week just to see the street entertainment. I love border morris, the Witchmen are my favourites.we had a go with them at a workshop, but we were useless!!
Math loveley photo, it's a beautiful part of the country you live in. We were at Market Overton a couple of weeks ago with the caravan, It would have been total peace and quiet if it hadn't been for the Harrier display we were treated to every night:eek: boy are they noisy
Right off to put the hoover away (unused today) now the phones ringing
bye0 -
Hi again,
Queenie thanks for the freezer inventory idea. I will put it into action at the weekend. I had a good look through the freezer and found a haggis so DS and DD will be having haggis, tatties and carrots tonight (no neeps).
I've also found some chicken that I had forgotten about as well as wholemeal pittas and sausages so I can rustle something up from now until Friday. :j
dlb condolences on your loss. ((hugs))
It really is hot and muggy here so I am going to have to give in and get the fan out as the whole house is steaming - and that's with windows and doors open. Must go and water the plants as they are wilting badly.
Amie and Dannahaz its not pigeons I'm having a problem with. Something (and I haven't established what yet) is eating one of my pepper plants - only the one, the rest are fine.
MATH love the photo. Beautiful scenery.
Off to do my blood test before I start dinner. Won't be good as Boss's wife *encouraged* me to eat some chocolate after lunch today. I think it was so she would feel less guilty.
(((hugs))) to all who need/want one. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Afternoon!
Bit late in the day for my post but back in the office after a week in London. Nice to see all my office buddies. Think they are slowly forgetting who I am!!
First of all - hugs to those that need it and smiles and congratulations to those that need them too!!!
I'm suffering a bit with cold, has developed into a bit of a cough which is making me feel a bit ill. Just want to curl up with a cuppa.
Busy day, trying to read the board inbetween doing bits of work. Found out I am not going to London again til Sunday so I can try out my OS meal planning for the first time!!
So far..
Monday - Sausage, mash & yorkshire pudding (might need some potatoes to mash)
Tuesday - Pasta, sausage and a sauce from the cupboard (may subsitute the sausage for mince depending on the date on them, cant remember at the moment!)
Wednesday - Chilli & rice
Thursday - Meat (tbc) and veggies
Friday - TBC (depends whats at the supermarket on offer)
Saturday - Fish, beans and chips
Sunday - away so will be eating out at the companies expense!!
Thats about it for now, anyone got any OS die hard tips for supermarket shopping?
Have fun all :T2010 is the year of bargain shopping! Time to money save, exercise and plan! I like to keep busy0 -
