Having a clear out on the computer as I've just spent 20 minutes looking for a particular photograph to make a Fathers Day card for my FIL  It's going to take a while so baby-stepping but OH wants the computer tonight so I guess I'll get settled down with Anthea at 7.30 (after OH's programmes have finished), how clean is your house at 8, end of springwatch at 8.30 and then my book at 9..see it's quite easy for me to fill my evenings :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

See you all tomorrow as I'm not going to get anywhere near the computer for the rest of the night

Just updated the 1st post. Not that any of you regulars need reminding that Friday is when we enter the bear pit.

Luckily for me, one baby doesn't make that much mess, and as i gutted his room last week it won't take long, so that will leave me more time for last minute wedding mayhem, and dealing with the clothes mountain formation to rival the rockies

See you later folks when i've managed a bit more.

:confused::confused: No posts for two hours on this thread --- what's happening? What's on the television that I should be watching? Where is everyone?

Have had a horrible day here in grannyland. Pupil at my school, 7 years old, went on holiday with her granny this week and following an accident in a swimming pool has died. I have to tell the children tomorrow. Please send me positive thoughts so that I can do it carefully, sensitively and with only a limited amount of my emotion showing. It's the worst thing I have to do in my job, telling children that one of their friends has died. This is the third time I've had to do it. And from my point of view the fact that she was in the care of her granny makes it just that little bit harder. Poor poor family.

Grannynise my thoughts are with you. It must be awful to have to do that.

Had a good day on the old house tidying.

Only the bathroom to go but im thinking that might be done tomorrow am when i get up.

Got to get my thinking cap on for this weekend. Friend and I are doing Race for Life and i possibly stupidly said to everyone i know come round for a charity BBQ after. I have no idea how many are coming, but i have said BYO and its fancy dress!!!!

Thinking i might get some burgers, sausages and buns. Do some marinaded chicken pieces. Then make a salad, potato salad and some coleslaw perhaps. Anyone any other ideas - cheap ideas?!?!?

See you tomorrow hopefully with no list to do!!

Big hugs grannynise. That is something i haven't had to do yet as a teacher. I had a girl in my form have a nasty operation that could have killed her, and i was praying so hard for a positive outcome. I wouldn't have been able to break the news and not be emotional.

aimeelister - looking at weather reports i would do a big batch of chilli, padding it out with tins of beans for cheapness. Perhaps stick some jacket tatties in the oven.

Speaking of weather, i'm surprised that i haven't had my sister on the phone in hysterics as she said she would cry if they forecast rain for Saturday for the wedding. No doubt i will hear about it tomorrow.

Anyway, list upgraded for tomorrow, and it is starting to look a bit stupid, but hey, what i don't get done will not be done, so there we go.
