FFP - sad news, I'm sorry to hear that. Have to say I would agree with Pigpen; what she says is spot on.

I meant to clean the kitchen.

I fell asleep while 'sitting down for 5 minutes'

    Evening all.

Just popping in quickly to say well done to all the flykids who got their results today :D

Today has been mostly out the house. Last night I ordered DD's school shoes from @m@zon then today I went and bought the last item of clothing, a school branded jumper. Had to ring my mum and tell her the size she was planning on getting DD would be too small  DD seems to be all limbs so I'm having to buy 38" chest size to get arm length. I dread to think what size I'll be trying to buy when she's in year 11 if she doesn't stop growing!

We also flung 2 binbags of stuff to the charity shop and returned trousers just within the 28 days to M@t@1an. Started getting some porridge in for the winter & bought some nice berry scented candles in a jar from H0mebargains as well as some bits for packed lunches. Also got lots of knitting supplies so I can get on with some Christmas projects :D We hit 4 different shopping areas and my feet/back are telling me enough is enough :rotfl:

Right now I need to get on with some paid stuff as my order is due in by 10pm. Tomorrow I have to take DD to the opticians in Mr A so we'll do some grocery shopping then as well. Not sure what else we'll be doing, but I'll probably be labelling the end of her uniform :(

ETA: FFP Sorry to hear about your FIL. I agree with Pigpen who has put it very well. I'd tell her as well.

Well done to all skids who've done so well in their exams :)

Paid work for 4 hours today, which was actually more like five as newest customer, Monica, likes to chops. She's a lovely lady, 91 and still living alone (and driving ), it was a pleasure to do a lot of the "heavy" cleaning for her but I was tired when I got back.

Helped with the last dribbles of painting in the girls room, showered, posted fleaBay items, bought new curtain pole and curtains for the girls. Drilled holes for the pole while OH held the vac -- something wrong there -- then ironed and hung new curtains, moved bunk beds back into situ and dragged drawers in too.

All the rest of their non-clothing carp is still spread over 90% of the lounge. It WILL be in its rightful home when I'm home from work tomorrow. I can't even sit on the sofa, it's winding me up too much.

Time for dinner if I can be bothered.

FFP - as always Pigpen has put it brilliantly. I would take her advice, and talk to DD, maybe after you've spent a bit of time coming to terms with it yourself...

Well I went to Mr A's and managed to declutter £18's worth of picnic ingredients to cook tomorrow.. Not very MSE, I reakon we should have gone for buying lunch now..don't think it would have come to that much :p

Decluttered Blackpool beach on my stairs - I'm sure the two cats are taking it in turns to see who can fling the cat litter the furthest..:rotfl: Or they aim it at each other on the stairs.. Personally I think they are playing "bowls" on the stairs..:rotfl:

Piggers so sorry to hear about dopey cat..fingers crossed it isn't the big C.

    FFP hugs honey xx

    Evening

Am home. Stayed for tea, FIL got fish and chips to celebrate his new wireless status :T

House is a tip but I have all day tomorrow to sort myself out. I have a pile of clothes to put away tonight though. And I can probably sort what can go in the suitcase back up in the loft, too.

FFP - I agree with the others, sorry to hear your news and I do believe kids respond well to age-appropriate honesty :(

It seems quite a few people are having a challenging time. (((Hugs))) to Mumof5, FFP and Pigpen (*pops on tin hat*). Valli, I've been trying to think of something to say that will make what the cat did on the mat okay, but nothing's going to make it okay, is it?

Mrs Dog is having a few more tramadol nights after all.
    Better is good enough.

    Hi all

Flying limited - been at both jobs for last 2 days, dashing home to feed cats before & after jobs then back to grandparent sit. I'm cream crackered.

Bins put out for tomorrow. (big woop!)

Well done to the flykids with their results today.

FFP hugs hun and strength to help you through it and beyond.
Pigpen sorry to hear about your cat

The guilty cat is the old girl who's 15-and-a-bit and the vallikids have always said she's their sister :rotfl: I'm not going to moan too much about a cat which held exOH's dog at bay - he brought his Westie round; cat was not pleased, he took it outside in the back garden and my old girl stood on the doormat and wouldn't let it back in the house - he barked at her; she didn't flinch! After they left she checked the house over - including behind the loo, which was when I finally realised what she was doing...

I've covered it with a mat;)
