Well, we were never in this work for the money! Usually because of the everyday injustice we see and so want to make a difference. Really hard on the pocket.

Do you mean Advice Session Supervisor ? If so, it depends on how you go about it. Some ways of doing the job makes it more difficult than needs be.

Certain you will be great at it by the time she comes back! Try to relax and enjoy it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence I do indeed mean the Supervisor role my job is ASM and training. Today was quite nice did lunch with ex colleague and it was fine, she was ok and seem happy with her job looks like they have employed one more person.

Been helping manager practise presentation for a big meeting tonight she is not great at it and I could have done it no sweat. Still she got better and hopefully it went ok. Volunteer was too busy to see me but got a nice massage was meant to be sports but quite relaxing.

Back to normal and hectic time tomorrow luckily I have two lovely volunteer in but still need to be in main office. Hopefully as you say I will crack it better by the time paid supervisor returns.

Sorry really cross today, got a phone cal from a local pub we used to go to a lot about 5 years ago we have our name down to play in a golf day on the 11th October. I said I knew nothing of this he just said no problem your husband comes in here all the time after work so he can pay when I next see him.

Now this is news to me DH is suppose not to drink when I asked he said he goes in when he has been to the bottle bank (he goes at the weekend on his own quite often).

I lost it with him I am so fed up he is back to drinking 5 to 6 pints of ale a night. Sometimes more I guess at from drinking 2.7% he is now back up to 3.6% and sometimes 4.5%. He's got a blood test tomorrow then doctors for results on the 16th. I'm going with him and I have told him he needs to make his mind up I'm fed up with him not getting better and not making any effort.

I don't really know what to think he says he's only been once and he doesn't go there after work. He usually comes home 4pm or so but I don't get in until 5.30 so I won't know if he's been.

On the other hand who am I to say he cannot go to the pub I go with work and I have been away at weekends and Sundays golfing.

Work still busy getting better at supervising so that's good but it's only day 4 out of 10 so a long way to go.

Sorry for being so fed up tonight hopefully my friend will call me later need to discuss he volunteering at work for 1 month.

Did OH ever have any counselling after his mum died ? I wonder if he would benefit from talking to someone, as there has to be a reason for him wanting to keep on drinking ? Does he really realise how serious a threat to his health it is ?

    Sending you some hugs too.
  • I don't have any advice on your relationship, that's for you and your OH to sort out, but i am also sending a hug your way.

Thanks for your thought much appreciated he did have counselling after his mum died but it was when his memory was really bad so not sure what they actually worked on.

I asked him last night if he missed his mum and he said yes, I then said what do you miss and he talked about him coming home from work in South Africa and them having a chat and a glass of sherry. Drink does seem to be a theme most of the time. Anyway good he will talk about her and he did say may her death has affected me more than I thought. He didn't have memory loss before she died. Spoke to my manager about him and how I feel I get angry at work due to this. I did say I would sort it out one way or another and it was good to talk to her. She's got her own husband problems.

Friend has agreed to volunteer for us and cover admin post so a relief. She may even train with us as that would help the type of job she is looking to do.

Shame she is moving even further away. Still she is not going to Cornwall as I would miss her so much.

Helped her with some job search she felt better afterwards so it was quite satisfying for me too.

Didn't do a lot else, Tesco shop £70 ouch £10 air bed, £15 cat food it was on offer so not too bad.

Playing golf today it looks like it's going to be a nice day. DH was well behaved yesterday usually weekend are difficult as he likes a beer with lunch and then carry on.

Fingers crossed he will realise I am serious about this and he needs to sort this out.

Ups forgot to add other spend, needed black leggings and can only wear Long Tall sally as I'm 6.2 so they had two pairs for £25 or £16 each. I have had those before but reading the reviews everyone one of the recent ones said they had changed and now they are absolute no good. So bought the more expensive ones at £30 a pair and £4 postage but I didn't spend £100 so I could use mure £20 off. I had found enough for £100 but going through my wardrobe and the loft I really didn't need those two items so took them out. I know definitely have enough clothes for work and play.

DH didn't want to go out for brunch yesterday we need to save money so that is a great start. Hopefully he will be good today and I will play some nice golf.

Thanks for the posts things are still not great here unfortunately. It's one step on and one step back.

Work is so hard as supervisor is still on leave so I am doing her job and it's the part I'm not very confident in. IT system still means lots of support needed for volunteers which I am of course doing. Admin support person has resigned and now the training officer has also resigned (was useless anyway) so more recruitment to be done and more people to cover.

Finding it hard to stay calm when I have three of four people asking for help all at the same time so snapped last Friday about something minor and the person complained about it yesterday. I really could have done without that so feel crap about going in today really.

Maybe I am just not cut out for this job, if I'm suppose to supervise 50% of the time with someone else I shall be fine but 90% as I'm doing now and sometimes on my own is just not working. Well next week we should be back to normal apart from the two people leaving.

My friend is coming down today to help with the admin she in bing shown by the person who is leaving and i really do hope she will be nice to her. I'm supervising on my own but only for one person, looking after reception as got a person covering as a favour but usually do something else. On top of that I have IT coming in to install new PCs and someone doing some prep for training. Don't know how I am going to help all of them at the same time. Oh well multi tasking I guess and there is no clients in until 4.30 so that helps.

Still looking forward to the camping trip at the weekend not had a chance to speak to manager about it. I'm sure we are still going it's not be brought up.

DH is still a pain he has been better but still not cut back down enough. He did call up solicitors regarding his mums probate and asked for a new form so small steps.

Financially still not great got £200 left in bank but that will go on car finance and ISA (in lieu of pension). Do have expenses coming in but only about £120. Will have to be super good this month at least try not to dip into overdraft too soon.
