That's the one I just couldn't get photobucket and MSE to work together hate doing the copying on the IPad.

DH woke me up at 3am then 5 am shattered now but will cope.

Didn't mention about the call I got last night alleged to be from Barclays Bank to DH. I said he wasn't in could I help he said there was suspected fraud on the account. He doesn't use his old current acc no money in or out but I suspected it was the classic scam so told him this. Indian chap on phone kept insisting he would give me his name and number so I could call him back. On the scam one they don't hang up so didn't really fancy this. Chap said we are the fraud department but really if it was real they wouldn't have told me so much as its not a joint acc. Told DH to check his acc today.

Sadly the fraud call was not fraud took a while to figure it out but basically someone called up at 17.15 last night to transfer £10k between his business account and his personal account. They then managed to spend on his personal and thats when the fraud was spotted as he doesn't use that account,

They cannot do anymore tonight or even tell us how much has been spent. I know DH hasn't done anything as I was with him last night.

FIL is obviously worried but I hope it will all be sorted DH still have his card and never wrote his pin down. Going to bed now I have had enough l

Got haircut sorted so at least thats done.

  • Hi TG, if yr bank is anything like FD, they were fab when we had a similar issue. Within 30 mins the money was returned.

I know it's a worry but they will resolve it.

    Best wishes Tilly x

  • That's awful TG - I hope they sort it out for you quickly. As Tilly said, they do know it's a fraud and they can't blame you for not believing the call - we are always being told to be careful. Sure it will all be ok but good luck - AG

That's awful, but it's good to know the bank was alert and vigilant. Hope it all works out in the end.

Thanks all of you for your kind words I am sure it will be sorted its just weird how they could phone up barclays and transfer the £10k to his personal account before using at card to spent it. He had no money in the current account can't wait to find out what happened. Problem is DH hates dealing with things like that and FIL can hardly hear on the phone but fingers crossed they will do it.

Got my hair cut done and its really nice on a course today with a lovely volunteer so that will be good. Feel guilty s s we are so busy at work but I need this training so bad luck.

Shame about the change in weather for the weekend camping trip might be quite wet. Bought a posh bottle of champers to toast my friends wedding in Sri Lanka not very MSE but important to me.

Will update when I know more about fraud.

Had an absolutely fantastic time girlie camping it was a proper VW campervan from 1970 named Bertie but he had a loo, a proper oven, fridge, cooker etc. we slept in a large awning with a proper sleeping pod. A bit of rain mainly overnight and it was just so much fun.

It's been over 20 years since I last camped (used to a lot as kids and a teenager) and found out my manager and I both love the same things. Bonfires cooking on them, wandering around pretty seaside towns, eating ice creams, just had a laugh as only you can sometime in the company of other women. We even have husbands with that same names who actually sounds quite similar.

The third friend was lovely too she brought her 12 week puppy too. I think the three of us a now really firm friends and I am no longer worried about it impacting work. Hardly any work talk all weekend.

Spendwise no too bad did get some Bilton for DH on the way back so total spend about £55 which is fine. Just about to dip into free overdraft on main account do have some mileage money and MS money coming in.

DH has been in bed for 1 hour and I'm about to join him looking forward to a soft bed tonight.

Morning determined not to go to work early today as it will be a late as we have a board meeting. Work is very busy and I'm doing stuff thats a bit out of my comfort zone but my manager is being so helpful despite being super busy herself. I really wish I could be as nice as her. IT continues to play up our equipment is so old and dated it just doesn't want to work. Really false economy to keep it going but hey ho it's not my decision. If it gets mentioned at the board meeting I am saying something.

Paid supervisor is still a worry she is so negative and I kind of mentioned it today but she got really annoyed and said she had never been negative. Got a supervisor meeting on Friday she is not coming and I have chair it hope I can keep it on track so it doesn't become a !!!!!ing session.

Moneywise I have not been that good to be honest lunch on Monday was £1 chocolate yesterday was £1 then there was £20 top up for phone seems I last topped up 22.8 so it's too much on pay as you go. I have a blackberry and its the £5 a month Internet thats expensive I hardly ever call but I must do to spend that much.

Anyone got any recommendations phonewise I'm happy to scrap the Blackberry but will need to buy a new phone. Really would love an iPhone but don't use it that much. Just was to be able to text and email don't need the diary as we can't sync work ones anyway.

Anyway should think of getting up it should be a quiet day to day got a meeting with at 11.30 and then 4.30 so not too bad.

Sometimes, bureau have no choice but to continue working with the resources they have. I guess a lot would depend on how much you have in reserves; and if in excess of 3 / 6 months wind up costs, what the manager and the board have in the business plan for the next 3 to 5 years. You are in the best position to find this out, being a member of the management team, and so be able to help achieve that goal.

You had previously mentioned a move of office. Is that what you are saving for?

Sometimes, staff who have been in post for a long time can't see their own disillusionment and negativity or how it affects others. And trying to manage it in a way that doesn't cause upset can be difficult. Are you her line manager? Asking as it sounds like something that could be picked up in her supervisions, with specific examples of comments and their effect on the vols. If not you, then a quick conversation with her line manager, who can bring it up, so she realises that it must be happening if more than one person is saying the same thing.

Good luck with it. Personnel issues are always fraught with difficulty, especially in that setting.

Hope the Trustee Board meeting goes well.
