Aw thank you all I am pleased with them they are my babies. Got to the 10th before it started raining but then got soaked for the next 1 1/2 yuk really not nice and played badly. Volunteer didn't want visitors so got my evening to myself. So I thought just got a text to say my manager has gone home via a detour to buy me Bilton and she is taking another detour to deliver it tonight, she is just so flipping nice its unbelievable. I am looking forward to the Bilton I must say.

Trying to update my satnav so she can borrow it but its taking so long my compute really is a pain.

Gosh it Tuesday already missed gym yesterday due to working late made it tonight though. Manager away for three days survived day two and tomorrow is fine. Shes at a certain conference and in my old job I would have been there too. Do I mind not being there. No not at all I'm learning so much everyday and the volunteers continue to amaze me. Been coaching this young girl in job interviews she has not worked that much since leaving Uni and has zero confidence in herself. It was good fun really and she so appreciated me taking that time to do it. I don't want to loose her but it would be great if she did get a job.

Recruitment gone a bit astray I thought we had done ok last Friday but no. Person who has resigned is being a prima Donna about it and so are the usual troublemakers. These are all paid staff but I have eyes and ears in the main office when I'm not there and the support of the volunteers. It's not me they are attacking its the manager and there really is no need.

Anyway in the bath so must get out ready to watch great British bake off. So love that show.

I'm certain that you will go to conference next year, and that you will love it. Such a fantastic opportunity to meet other like minded people, have a chance to relax and learn about the future direction being planned. If you can, it's worth keeping your diary clear so you don't miss it by being on holiday!

Sorry to hear you are having a few problems with the paid staff. People always want someone to criticise. And they always think they can do a better job than the manager. But that's because they look at the world from the perspective of their specialism, so of course they can improve it. But not without total disregard for others, other teams, other workers etc. Their field of vision is extremely narrow and they usually have no real concept of the big picture that the manager is trying to balance.

I tend to find that being really nice confuses people. Give it a go, it might help. Or at least make you feel better. At least your colleague who made the decision to resign might feel a bit better if someone is being positive, after all, a resignation is a life choice. It's not a dismissal!

I truly hope the tension and negativity settles down shortly, so you can really enjoy your work.
Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Owed at the end of -
    02/19 - £78,400. 04/19 - £85,000. 05/19 - £83,300. 06/19 - £78,900.
    07/19 - £77,500. 08/19 - £76,000.

Oh you are so wise I actually had more problems yesterday with both of them (third one who resigned was not in). They were acting like children to be honest and they wind each other up so I took a chat with both of them and shortly afterwards they nearly came to blows about something else but in the end settled their differences and agreed who was right and wrong.

I don't supervise the paid staff but this was relevant to me and I think I handled it ok. I actually enjoyed it afterwards but lets wait and see if its actually sorted. One is on holiday now do two weeks. Got to catch up with manager and conference had been good Martin Lewis was lovely but quite late.

Going to a meeting today then seeing my friend who just got married. Tomorrow it's another meeting then back in the office pm then drinks with manager again. Won't get dragged into staying all night I think DH is fed up with me working late already.

Need to get up shower breakfast and off if I am to make my 10am meeting.

So as you can see I am not doing too badly however there are now credit card bills

    I digress
    Account status as of 18.08.13
    Owed to holiday fund £550.00
Satander CC £598.44 will increase a bit
    Overdraft£ 500.00
    Tesco CC £131.20
    Total Debt£1,779.64 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Payday is not until Wednesday 28th August and I have £40 in my purse which I need to pay for my friends birthday treat on Thursday.

Plan is to track my spending on here until I get back on track and then try to get on track with ISA's etc.

Hope you will follow my journal and help me get back on track there will be a lot of drivel and dross but hopefully some useful stuff as well.

Ok that was 18th August thought I ought to update as of today

    Barclay card £1140.14
    Santander cc £126.03
    Overdraft £154.61
    Tesco cc £11.50
    Total debt: £1432.28

Actually better than I thought and its not payday yet. I have paid back the £450 to the holiday account and plan is to clear the santander and tesco credit cards when payday comes. Barclaycard is on 0% for 18 months I'm paying £100 a month. Got £250 free overdraft.

Savings have grown by £350 which is what I save each month.

It was an expensive month with clothes shop, going away twice and slip up with drinks nights out and not taking lunches to work.

Still tomorrow is Friday going to a meeting then back to work late afternoon then drink with work friends.

It will not be a late one tomorrow and I won't drink more than one as I need to drive home.

Golfing Sunday in the champion game as I have won a comp this year.

Slightly miscalulated that overdraft now up to £399 with £50 still to come out.

Only had two s all drinks so drove home so quite a cheap evening, DH is overdrawn up to his limit almost really don't know how he spends his money so quickly. He has expenses to put in but really it's silly how much goes out of his account. Will try to spend less on food ect.

Washed Rossi (car), mowed the front and back lawn, made stew for tonight plus freezer in slow cooker, potted up small pansies from mail order, potted up pots with winter colours and got two packs of Sweet Williams free with the Telegraph from Homebase.

Now got more winter bedding than I know what to do with.

Friends popping in later will be last time we see them before they move to Brisbane.

Going to watch Gardeners World on Iplayer on bad feel so tired. Playing t 8.04 tomorrow

Golf ok ob front nine then fell to pieces on the back, shame but improved two scores on a long term comp and its was lovely and still to play. Signed up for next two Sundays want to continue to play all winter.

Finished nice and early so a bit more gardening done, planted out freebies from yesterday look nice in three large pots.

DH is being a pain to be honest his memory is so bad he keeps asking me the same question over and over. Drives me mad almost.

Work tomorrow got stuff to sort out with manager about what my remit is as she mentioned something on Friday night (after two glasses of wine) which sounded like things had changed or I had misunderstood. Needs sorting shouldn't be during off time anyway.

She really wants my good friend to come and volunteer in admin but I'm not sure. Will have to think about it.

Think I shall have an early night honestly so fed up with DH tonight. Sorry for the moaning.

Sorry about your troubles with OH. Have you tried supplements for his memory loss ?

    Good article here:

Also dehydration does not help, so maybe more fluids are needed ?

Morning thanks for the link Vandafc DH is only 50 but I agree vitamins are vital and he is on vit b from the doctor. Need to book him an appointment so we can both go just keep forgetting to do it.

Work was so hectic I even needed seeing a client which was fine. Paid person is on leave so its two weeks of this pace and I have to do the role I am less good at so at least I get lots of practise.

Had a good chat about work roles which carried over into a long text conversation after work. All is fine but one of our volunteers are not happy with how things are in the bureau so that felt a bit of a blow although she was ok about me.

New camping trip planned and a trip to London all with new friends so quite looking forward to that. Payday tomorrow not been that good to be honest.

Well today my old job and my new one get to meet, the person who took over from me (who I worked with) is coming to see me today. Taking manager with me so going to be a bit strange. Thinking about it the only thing I miss about the old life is the wages, the free phone and car but looking at what I have gained since you just cannot compare unless you are solely money driven.

I know I rarely talk about mortgages on here but to be honest I found MSE just as I got that well paid job. I managed to pay my mortgage off nice years early due to it and I now reap the rewards for that.

Actually is more than that because of the skills I get to learn now and of course the friends I have made. I think the biggest thing I missed in my last job was having colleagues and look what I have got now. I know I could have been friendlier with my old ones but it was difficult due to the distance.

Anyway enough reflection money wise it's payday and boy is my finances rubbish. £1100 on 0% with Barclaycard, I got up to £450 on the overdraft (cost me 21p last month) but I also have £500 on another credit card that needs paying next month.

I just don't seem to be able to live on my wages so seriously have to rethink. One of my ISA mature this month so could take out the interest but then on the other hand would be nicer if I didn't. We are cutting down on going out for dinner and I will shop better and batch cook more.

I have no large bills coming up apart from Christmas so it should be doable. I think once my monthly savings account ends in January I shall not renew it that £300 is a lot to me. I already save £50 into my ISA and then I pay for my car finance. In hindsight I wish I had paid my car off at the time still £151 a month is affordable.

Phone just gone off hope its a text from bank and not manager. She looked so bad yesterday but it could just be stress because of a big presentation tonight. Anyway got my sports massage at 5pm then visiting the volunteer who is now out of hospital. Today is day 3 of supervisor being on holiday still 7 more to go. Hopefully I shall get better at that part of the job.
