What a brilliant photo opportunity!
I think you may have been adopted by a lovely robin, one of those followed me in last week- our Wrens look like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wren http://www.rspb.org.uk/discoverandenjoynature/discoverandlearn/birdguide/name/w/wren/index.aspx

I think if you re-read the post, this robin is the type of visitor they are used to - perhaps they will be lucky enough to get a photo of the wren another time!
We have a very tame robin that is always coming indoors at work. Last week it went exploring inside a customer's van and nearly got driven 20 miles away... so pleased someone noticed before they shut the doors and left!0 -
One summer (a proper hot day), a duck and her brood got themselves into the wildflower part of the veg garden (sounds better than overgrown), nowhere near any water so I took the top off a birdbath in case they wanted a dip

What a truly delightful little intimate clip. And all the more welcome for having a small glimpse of summer on such a dreary grey December day. Thank you.0

Aww reminds of my robin from last year. He would eat out my hand and come in doors for meal worms. He even used to sit on bedroom window seal waiting for us to wake up! Once he sat on the inside of our back doors singing it was lovely! He had two broods of babies through the spring. But unfortunately he dissappeared late summer and another robin has taken over.0 -
I filled my three-part bird feeder with differing foods. One bit has peanuts, one bit has sunflower seeds and the final one has sunflower hearts - the birds definitely go for the sunflower hearts first. The blue and great tits are happy enough with the peanuts.
The squirrel still comes every day and is getting bolder. Found him in the barn earlier and then he scampered up onto the steading roof and happily ferreted around the mosses for a while. I'll post a pic once I've had lunch. He's such a joy.
The birds are also a joy to watch. I could happily sit and watch them for hours, it's a pity the woodburner is in a different room as watching them both would be perfect.0 -
