You've got yourself a little MSE there :rotfl:
We just subscribed to Netflix too and I am loving it. Never thought I would agree to increase our monthly outgoings but at £6 a month it's such a bargain and there is so much to watch! I'm currently motoring through Grey's Anatomy, all 9 seasons! Whoopee!0 -
OK, so here is a summary of March, I'm not planning to spend anything else today.
The only thing I managed to stay in budget for was fuel, and that's not something I have a lot of control over!
The spends reflect my general lack of control for the month, although still loads better than the hundreds I used to overspend every month. I've also paid a fair whack off the debt again, nothing added to the cards, both bank accounts were in credit at the end of the month and I have savings!! So I'm not going to be too hard on my self. :A
Total Spend £646.56 budget £610 Overspent by £36.56
Groceries £206.22 budget £180
Fuel £242.65 budget £300
Other £197.69 Budget £130
Coffee/eatingout/school lunch/nights out £97.94
Gifts £5
Health/hair/beauty £24.25 (Prescription/deoderant/medicine)
Work shoes for DD, Jacket for me from charity shop £69.5
Additional to the above I have paid £217 on Leeds fest tickets and £57 on trainers for DS, however this came out of savings so not included on above. I've spent over £200 on kids shoes (4 pairs) in the last few weeks, did they need them, yes, could I have got them cheaper - definitely, but then they probably wouldn't have worn them! Also I think if you buy cheap shoes they don't last as long.

SO my car still hasn't arrived at the garage and they don't know when it will.
Incredulous that I am expecting a parcel today, not only have they text me to tell me that it will arrive between 14.56 and 15.56 but they can tell me the drivers name is Shaun. So why can no-one trace a brand new car that allegedly left the factory last week in Swindon on a car transporter.
Oh well, I've just realized that I might have overpaid the CC a bit yesterday and have left my self £175 short for this month, what a numpty. Well I will get £130 back from AA when I complain, so £45 to find, I'd better get ebaying. I could just take it out of my savings, but that defeats the point.
It looks like the man who was going to do my garden isn't going to turn up, he was supposed to be here at 9. Yes, I am paying some-one £60 to sort my garden, why? Well it looks like a farmers set aside field and I have no idea what are weeds and what is kosha plants, so hopefuly when he's finished I'll be able to stay on top of it my self. Infact I might even plant some veggies :T
Confession time, well it feels like it, I didn't mention this before because it all sounded a bit dramatic and I'm not a drama queen. I've had a few funny turns recently, where my heart has been racing and thumping around, and a couple of times I thought I was going to pass out. I went to the docs on Saturday and he sent me straight through to A&E for an ECG as he said my heart rate was too fast. It was all a but surreal, I drove myself, and was laid there wired up to this machine within an hour of being at the docs. Anyway the summary is that I have something called SVT, where the heart gets out of rhythm and goes off on a little dance of it's own, scarey but not harmful. I've been prescribed beta blockers, which have sorted it right away, but I feel very tired, and like every things happening a bit slow.
I think this is a bit of a wakeup call, I do tend to run around on adrenaline trying to keep all my balls in the air (figuratively speaking!)
I've spoken to the kids and said I need much less stress in my life and they are going to have to grow up a bit and try harder to get on and help me out, they were quite shocked and upset, but that's how it has to be.
I need to take better care of myself, I'm off work at the moment and DD has my phone battery so I can't call any-one or check my emails.
I'm supposed to have 2 meetings down south Wednesday & Thursday, I'll decided later whether I'm going or not, also full of cold - yuk!Pay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

OK I need some quick advice - the man who was doing my garden has given me a quote for my drive, (the house I rent out but will move back in to later this year) which has desperately needed doing for years. It's a good price, and he said I can pay him £1000 and then £200 monthly for 6 months. If I get it done now, before I move in, I will pay less tax on my rental income, but it'll mean paying much less back off my debts for a while. The £1000 is coming from the sale of my car when I get my new one this week. What would you do?Pay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Get as much out of the tax man as possible while giving yourself one less thing to worry about.
Reading between the lines, I'd say that if your condition was scary enough to get you in front of a doctor on a Saturday, you really do need to see it as a wake up call. I can see you don't do fuss but please recognise this as a warning and follow the medical advice given

Well I have a shiny new car sat on the drive, and a brand new iphone in my pocket. Both a taxable expense and paid for by Youtube, thank you Google
I have a cheque for £1500 which the dealer gave me for my car, and an invoicefor £2700 for the drive and landscaping for the house I rent out, and also for sorting the garden where I live.
So that will increase my debt by £1200 to be paid off at £200 per month to the nice gardening man. I won't add that to my total until he's done it and the money is due.
I have to think of it this way, the £2700 I'm paying for repairs to my garden/drive that is rented out is saving me £1080 on next years tax bill. I can only get tax relief on the repairs while I'm not living there so it makes sense to do it now before I move back.
DD has been a complete b!tch to me this week, if any-one else treated me like that they'd be dumped/unfriended.
On the plus side I got a full tank of fuel with my new car and I can claim back 9 months tax as the dealer gave me the tax disc back off my old car, both were an unexpected bonus
The day started very unfrugally by giving DS lunch money instead of pack up and driving him to school in the new car (in Eco mode of course). Jobs for today as not at work

Sounds like you are doing brilliantly, as always, I have no idea how you manage.
As for the "to do" list, you missed out REST!!! The world wont stop turning if you take a break.
I'm so sorry DD is being foul - must be a full moon because mine seems to have turned into the moodiest beast on earth. She's only been out of her room to eat and I think that's because I refuse to allow food upstairs! I'm certain we were never this stroppy asteeteenagers
