I had my scan today, the cyst is just a cyst and nothing to worry about :j
DD has been in good form this week, she's decided to give up her english gcse, which is a shame, but was causing her a lot of stress. She just passed her maths functional skills level 2 which is equivalent to a gsce a-c, and is going to switch to the level 2 course in English instead. The qualifications aren't as widely accepted as GSCE's, but they are taught in a more relevant format, for example in her maths they learned how to check your payslip is correct and calculate credit card interest - yey- sounds much more useful than Pythagoras and logrythms!
Well payday came plus bonus and £5.5k hit my account, that's the largest monthly pay I ever had. I think it's taken all day to sink in. I have cancelled my overdraft and paid off 2 credit cards. I keep logging into my account to look at the in credit balance with a big smile. My over draft has gone for ever and I will never have to look at a negative balance again. :A
However there's no slacking, I still have over 7K to pay back, although I might just celebrate with a takeaway tomorrow
Hoping you're all having the highs without the lows this week xx
I have just read your entire diary after being intrigued by your signature. You are utterly amazing! I have no idea how you juggle so much! I feel like I've walked alongside you, thank you for sharing so honestly. The post above actually made me burst into tears! I'm so pleased the cyst was nothing sinister but I remember the relief when I got similar news, that and the bonus has me in bits!
I am now subscribing, you've given me a whole new perspective and I realise I've been living for debt repayments, not a totally new revelation for me but a new clarity.
I can't wait to see you tell us all the debt is gone...almost as much as I can't wait to say mine is all gone!

Kate, that is such a lovely message, it brought a tear to my eye, thank you so much.
I've drawn so much inspiration from reading other peoples diaries here, and for the support. In my entire life this is the only diary I've ever managed to keep up.
After getting the bonus I've been a little slack. It's March 5th and I've only just done my spread sheet for March, entered everything on that I've spent so far and checked all the accounts.
I decided against all my spends on a credit card and paying it off in full the next month. One step at a time. Now I have 1 account in credit where all my bills come out with enough in there to last until the end of the month, and another account for fuel, food and spends, all in credit, look no negative balances here. :j Paying off the overdraft I think is one of THE biggest psychological miles stones.
I got a rebate from british gas as I'd over paid the eletric so I paid £60 off the Halifax card. Only then to get an unexpected bill from NPower. When I first moved in here I switched to British gas, and Npower never actually sent me a bill for the first 2 months, so today I get a bill for £90 for Dec 24th 2012 to 1st March 2013 - can they do that, send me a bill 12 months later?
I have an ebook on kindle publishing, the royalty payment from January landed at the beginning of the month - 72p :rotfl:
Non frugal news is DD has calmed down now after her drugs and late nights. She's been as good as gold this week with 2 early shifts at work and a driving lesson.
I've had a couple of dates from match.com, both free as it was just a coffee and they paid, but nothing to write home about yet!
Hope your all having a good week, thanks for reading, if you got this far!

It's been a few days since I posted, had a couple of no spend days. I said to DD we would go to the cinema or have a meal out last night, but she was too tired. So even though I tried to spend it was still a NSD!
Stopped off at Waitrose this morning and had breakfast with DS in the cafe, I picked up a waitrose card which gave me a free coffee - you can have a free coffee everyday, I was quite impressed with that!
Something Ali-OK posted a few days ago has got me thinking. My car, now bought and paid for, is now 8 years old, for it's service and MOT in July it's also going to need new tyres and a new timing belt, so there's some fairly hefty costs coming up, it's also got a leak in the floor which I spent £270 having repaired and it promptly returned.
So, I was thinking of getting a car on business contract hire through my business, rather than pay for it my self. DS and I went out to look at some today, I could get a car fully maintained for about £250 per month, the only thing I would have to pay for is insurance. this would save me a fair bit personally, and I would be able to sell my own car which I may get £1500-£1800 for towards my debts.
So from where I'm sitting it looks a sensible thing to do, but I need to run this past my accountant on Monday.
DS and me had a bit of a row on Thursday over his nil contribution to keeping the house tidy, I've been on strike since, no washing, cleaning or loading/emptying the dishwasher. :rotfl:Pay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Another way to skin the debt - loved your comment on my diary!
Definitely speak to your Accountant about company car side of things - I still don't fully understand it and am trusting him on this one. He'll get sacked if it doesn't work out cheaper for me
Having said that, with needing a vehicle for business, reliability sits as my first priority and sounds like you've got to a stage of alot of costs and repairs, where having a new one (and therefore able to move it over to the business) does make sense.
Liking the strike with DS's lack of input :rotfl: I refused to pick up DS's smelly socks a couple of years back...he then had none to wear for school one day and went bare-footed in his school shoes. He soon started making sure they were put in the washing basket, but still doesn't apply it to this other clothes!
Well done on the NSDs - epsecially when you tried to spend.Back on the DFW Wagon:

I have a company car. It hits the tax code hard but I know little about cars and do a lot of work based miles so, for me it's well worth the peace of mind I gain. It's also a much sturdier car than I could afford so helps to keep me safe.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Thanks both, I never thought of the tax implications that might make a difference, will see what the numbers man comes up with tomorrow.
I still have done nothing around the house, looks like a complete pit, but I don't actually think DS's noticed yet. He will in the morning when there's no school clothes to wear, and there's no roast dinner tonight!
I think I might be developing an internet addiction, all I want to do is stay in bed and browse forums! I have to say that when the house is so messy I'm less inclined to leave my bed. My friends has invited me out on a walk, and I'm going to do a to do list to motivate me for the day- Not do any washing
- Not do any cleaning
- Not cook Sunday roast :rotfl:
- Will have to go shopping
- Meal plan
- Put though credit card transaction for wardrobe sale made LAST TUESDAY (why haven't I done this yet, so lazy)
- Walk with friend :A
- Make 2 youtube videos
- Collect DD from work
