I've taken an impromptu day of work. I feel stressed and quite low. My boss asked me if everything was Ok yesterday and I burst into tears, luckily I was working from home and it was on the phone.
It's a lovely day outside and I should go for a walk or run, but I have no motivation, I just want to hide in bed on my laptop.

Payday tomorrow and I get my bonus, I should be exited, but I don't feel it.

I've had a lot on, when I got back from my work trip last week, I came home to find evidence of DD using drugs in the house, she denied it, but I don't believe her, and her behavior has been quite erratic in the last few weeks, it's a worry.

I also found a lump in my breast, I know it's a cyst as I've had several before, my doctor is 99.9% certain it's a cyst too, but I have to go for a scan tomorrow, it's the hassle of getting to the hospital, parking and all the waiting around I can do without.

Hohum, life is full of ups and downs, this is a down bit, however it will pass too like all the others.

Sorry you're feeling so low SL. (((Hugs))), sorry that you have so many worries at the moment too.
Hopefully, things will soon get sorted and you will feel better soon Hun. :)

  • Sorry you've been feeling low SL :( You are usually so positive but sometimes life does get on top of us and with the problems with your daughter on top of worrying about the cyst, it's understandable that you are feeling down.

Good luck today, hope it will put your mind at rest. x
  • Thank you every-one, Just writing stuff down helps. After I wrote my last diary entry I felt more energised I did this (hurt today), ate a salad, meditated and got a couple of hours sleep and felt much better.
I had my scan today, the cyst is just a cyst and nothing to worry about :j
DD has been in good form this week, she's decided to give up her english gcse, which is a shame, but was causing her a lot of stress. She just passed her maths functional skills level 2 which is equivalent to a gsce a-c, and is going to switch to the level 2 course in English instead. The qualifications aren't as widely accepted as GSCE's, but they are taught in a more relevant format, for example in her maths they learned how to check your payslip is correct and calculate credit card interest - yey- sounds much more useful than Pythagoras and logrythms!

Well payday came plus bonus and £5.5k hit my account, that's the largest monthly pay I ever had. I think it's taken all day to sink in. I have cancelled my overdraft and paid off 2 credit cards. I keep logging into my account to look at the in credit balance with a big smile. My over draft has gone for ever and I will never have to look at a negative balance again. :A

However there's no slacking, I still have over 7K to pay back, although I might just celebrate with a takeaway tomorrow

Hoping you're all having the highs without the lows this week xx

  • Hi SL!

Firstly, fantastic news about the cyst. Even though you are told it probably isn't anything, it's still such a relief to get confirmation that it's nothing to worry about!

Brilliant news about your bonus too! Wow, what a boost that has given your debt busting! Don't blame you for celebrating with a takeaway - you deserve it. :)

Pleased to hear that DD is in good form. My daughter passed her English GCSE but really struggles with Maths and she's doing Functional Skills at College. I agree that what they are taught is so much more useful in everyday life and hopefully it will stand them in good stead to manage their finances and not end up in here! ;)

Have a good weekend and enjoy the takeaway!
