I would key in the data to shown incorrect postage and incorrect item posted. however from my dealings with tns this most probably won't flag up the poster but may get you removed from the panel instead. I would report to tns directly

I have reported items to TNS in the past that were not correctly prepared and there was no problem for me (as the receiver). TNS said they would contact the sender.

This kind of problem is different to the post being damaged where the contents are then visible to the PO/postman & so the receiver is removed from the panel because they are identified as being on the panel.

It's a pity that TNS do not have a blank space on the survey for special comments but I suppose that would involve them with too much work.

My understanding is that the whole point of answering the "item details" is to ensure the sending panellist is posting items correctly. Otherwise it would be easier to omit those questions and trust the sender is doing the job in accordance with TNS instructions, but they do have this quality control monitoring in place.

It may sometimes seem as if TNS don't know what they're doing but I think they're pretty good at double checking senders' and receivers' mistakes. Hence the reason you sometimes get asked to confirm whether the details you entered were correct.

The problem arises if, when TNS double-check with the sender, the sender lies about the fact that an APL was not used; which may be why TNS is unable to do anything (unless the perpetrator happens to identify him/herself via repeat offending with multiple panellists).

To ensure that these types of panellists are weeded out, I would therefore take a photo of the box with large letter stamps alongside the R number sheet (which will detail the fact that an APL was required) and email it to TNS.

had an email from TNS yesterday telling me I am off the panel with immediate effect because the Royal Mail know what I am doing. so please do not write on envelopes when something is to be posted etc. and use enough sellotape on boxes so they don't open otherwise you are jeopardising someone elses place on the panel.

Has anyone read the "News & Features" on the website? First time I have done so for months. Worth having a look at if only to see the lucky people who have won big money!

I contacted TNS as I had received a posting schedule for when I was away & as I am away for 4 weeks wanted to know whether I should post on return (as it was a long time).

I have received this interesting reply

"We are sorry that you have received items to post while you are away.

It will be very helpful if you can still post the items concerned. If you are able to, please post them on the corresponding days of the week when you return. You can also post them before your departure. In either instance, please ensure that you log the actual date of posting online."

First time I have ever seen this instruction - good as I can post it before I go!

got my retirement email today. oh well back to making buyers pay for postage on ebay
  • I received a stamped item that should have been metered according to the R number and insert. All duly recorded but looks like someone made an error.

I think I had one of those a few weeks back. Maybe it's a business panellist who just dumps them in the out tray and someone else does the posting - and the franking machine was up the spout?
I need to think of something new here...
