Another quick question for the experts, I have received my first magazine, all good - but it contained no smart, on entering info it said this item should contain a smart & to recheck. Do sealed publications normally have a smart in?

    Hello

My magazine didn't contain a SMART. Is it listed on your non R number items?

I received a publication which was a test item and had a SMART plus a R number in enclosed in a separate envelope.

    What have you received?

None of my magazines have ever had a smart in, but I always get the message telling me they should and asking me to double check.

I don't quite see how they can. If it's a subscription copy of a well-known magazine; it would be rather awkward (costly?) to manually insert SMARTs into specific copies surely? Then they might not go in the normal post run for that magazine.

Maybe it can be done with some smaller mailings - like the charity ones I had last time round.

    And on a new note...

Last week, after 5 weeks of training, I got an e-mail to say they were over-subscribed and I was being suspended.

90 minutes later I get an e-mail telling me to expect a live mailing pack this week.

Nothing showing in the posting plan so I'll just have to see what appears....

I am back on the panel after a few years off and posted my first item but I cant enter my info online it tells me to go back to check the details. My post box last collection is 9am so I posted my item at 22:30 (as did not go out today until after lunch) last night which is before the last collection but it seems that this is wrong to do this. Do I need to then make up a time of posting for this morning pre 09;00 - has anyone else had an error like this?

    Hardly an "ERROR"

You've been asked to post an item on Wednesday 13th and you are trying to enter Tuesday 12th

Ok - wrong date but the mail wont be going anywhere between my posting and the last (and first collection) of 9am!! I have even just tried to day I posted at 5am on 13th and it still tells me my entry is invalid and that is the correct day of posting and prior to last collection so I still cannot enter the information!

Posting is either "before midday", "after midday" or "before last collection"
If you try to post a letter that has to be posted e.g "after midday" in a 9am pick up box then you will get an error

Not a good idea to assume that post wont be collected outside of the regular collection times as I'm sure it was over Christmas. Best to just post when asked and input the correct information.
