I have just came off the phone from Atos where I was told to wait my turn it will be between 12 and 14 weeks till I get my assessment. I tried to say that as I live between Aberdeen and Dundee either one of these would be fine for face to face
she wasn't interested she said that I had only been waiting since January and that was not long. So I think I will probably not phone again for a while I felt intimidated by her.
Thats awful they made you feel that way!! Ring back and just tell them you are willing to travel alittle further, hopefully next time you ring you will get someone nice on phone cx0 -
Ok
I've got my decision :T
However it seems to have opened the flood gates for loads more,
It appears that getting PIPS is a sort of passport to other benefits.
Just had a letter and they have backdated my other benefit to 40 weeks ago and I didn't even asked them to do so.
In reality didn't know I was entitled to task for a back payment
So perhaps the stress has been worth it -
felt really good pay off the credit card I've lived on for 40 weeks!!!!

Congratulations!:T
PIP (and other benefits) are backdated to the date of the claim, regardless of how long it takes. On the condition that you send the forms back by the requested date.
If you receive any income based benefits, you may be entitled to disability premiums within those benefits. Your backdated PIP isn't counted as savings for a year.
