Applied on the 28 th August
Form posted back on 25th September
Waited till February with no word despite calling them every week from january, I called and was given assessment date for 15th of March. I couldn't make it so it was rearranged to the 9 th of April.
In amongst all of this I had to get my local mp involved as I'd been waiting so long for assessment.
Dwp received assessment report back on the 15th of April, I've been calling every couple of days for the past week or so but still no desicion yet. That's been over 8 months. Keep being told it will be done within 3 weeks of them receiving it but that is Tuesday and I have no hope it will be then.
I have several health conditions and the assesor was great, it took ninth minutes and they knew a lot about my conditions and how they affect a person. I had a lot of hope as they said they could obviously see I should be awarded it but I said I know I wouldn't and I'd appeal anyway, they said they didn't think I'd have to do that, that gave me some false hope for a few days but I'm back to reality now lol is there a way to complain if it takes over the three weeks? I don't know how much more if this I can take, we aren't not well of in the least, the money would enable me to have some kind of life, in fact would change my life in the sense I'd be able to go out as I can't walk very well and certainly cannot afford taxis or anything like that. Anyway sorry for rambling, just jumping out my wits time the phone goes. As far as I can tell it hasn't been sent back to atos or anything, it's just sitting there, the man on the phone today said he couldn't see any problems. I just want the decision so I can get the reconsideration done and begin the appeal. I got refused dla a couple of times a few years ago but my condition is 10 times worse now. Thanks for reading x
Mine was back at DWP on 3rd April and was assessed yesterday. If you look back, you will see mine took 17 working days. Work out when yours will be and start phoning then0 -
well my f2f never happened, we waited for 40 mins after the time they were supposed to turn up and then called up capita. We were told it it was cancelled! We had received no phone call or letter about this, and if we had not called up I would not of had another appointment booked. They have now arranged one for next week. Its just made me feel even more worse
I had one cancelled in Glasgow, (about 150 miles round trip) on the day, and the next one was cancelled. I phoned before setting off and was assured it was going ahead, but when I got there it had been cancelled with no-one telling me. When I got back home and phoned them, they asked why I was a 'no show'. I think they have no idea what they are doing.0 -
I've got my assessment date! After getting nowhere fast on my own I reluctantly asked my MP whether they could help. They seem to have been able to get both DWP and ATOS to get in touch. Neither will explain or admit any culpability in the withdrawn claim debacle with each seeming to be blaming the other. Not surprised and I doubt I'll ever find out what happened.
So just 9 months and five days after applying I'll have my assessment. I'm hoping the rest of the process won't take as long.
Like others I've found the forum both informative and in a perverse way comforting. Knowing I wasn't the only one has made it easier. I have been made up when awards have been made quickly but it has to be said not without a tinge of jealousy.
just hope it doesn't get cancelled...
