Thnkyou just rang them it was scanned on the system 23 rd April said they have everything they need they r 3/4 weeks behind but if I haven't heard in a weeks time 2 ring again ..is that good or bad

They will probably be behind because of Easter, 2 bank holidays and term timers being off for school hols. Unfortunately in DWP world when you are off nobody does your work for you because you have their own workload that is falling off your desk. Also if Atos/capita have been kicked up the jacksee they may have all of a sudden got an influx of claims.
Mine was around 5 weeks to get an award. If they say they have everything, I would guess that the decision maker/claims manager is looking at your case? Give them a fortnight then ring on the 6th of June .
Fingers crossed for you, you are almost there, :)
RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

  • Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with pip so far, I think this thread has some brilliant posts and advice, I have just joined so please be gentle with me lol

Waited till February with no word despite calling them every week from january, I called and was given assessment date for 15th of March. I couldn't make it so it was rearranged to the 9 th of April.
In amongst all of this I had to get my local mp involved as I'd been waiting so long for assessment.
Dwp received assessment report back on the 15th of April, I've been calling every couple of days for the past week or so but still no desicion yet. That's been over 8 months. Keep being told it will be done within 3 weeks of them receiving it but that is Tuesday and I have no hope it will be then.

I have several health conditions and the assesor was great, it took ninth minutes and they knew a lot about my conditions and how they affect a person. I had a lot of hope as they said they could obviously see I should be awarded it but I said I know I wouldn't and I'd appeal anyway, they said they didn't think I'd have to do that, that gave me some false hope for a few days but I'm back to reality now lol is there a way to complain if it takes over the three weeks? I don't know how much more if this I can take, we aren't not well of in the least, the money would enable me to have some kind of life, in fact would change my life in the sense I'd be able to go out as I can't walk very well and certainly cannot afford taxis or anything like that. Anyway sorry for rambling, just jumping out my wits time the phone goes. As far as I can tell it hasn't been sent back to atos or anything, it's just sitting there, the man on the phone today said he couldn't see any problems. I just want the decision so I can get the reconsideration done and begin the appeal. I got refused dla a couple of times a few years ago but my condition is 10 times worse now. Thanks for reading x

well my f2f never happened, we waited for 40 mins after the time they were supposed to turn up and then called up capita. We were told it it was cancelled! We had received no phone call or letter about this, and if we had not called up I would not of had another appointment booked. They have now arranged one for next week. Its just made me feel even more worse :(

Hello, I think that has to be the quickest atos internal audit, less than a week, they must be bang up to date in your area. I'd hope that is a sign that your assessor completed everything in record timing to get it turned round so quickly.
If DWP received your report on the 15th of April , bearing in mind , a standard claim is taking 2-3 weeks for a decision to be made, then you shouldn't expect any response until at least Tuesday at the latest. However, as crisscross has stated the office dealing with her claim is experiencing delays. It's likely yours could be too, mine took 5 weeks.
Try to put it out of your mind until Tuesday, then ring up and ask for an update. You're almost there, try not to worry about being refused until you receive the decision. You may be worrying and putting additional pressure on yourself making your various health conditions worse for nothing. Nearly there.

Thank you so much for replying, I think they got it back so quickly as the assessor really knew how to do their job. She said she'd try and get it back as soon as possible and also advised me on aids I could get and other medications and things for my conditions that I never knew about, she said she was a nurse who worked on hospital wards. I am hoping because I think she done her job well that I might have some success if the case manager agrees with her. I am not hopping for the enhanced rate of either, the normal rate would be fantastic. I got lucky getting her as I've had horrible ones passes me in the past.

Does anyone know the process the claim goes through once it's back at dwp? Does the desision maker usually take on board the assessors report or do they just do their own thing? Thank you xxx

Sounds like she really knew her job and was on the ball, that's a good start.

As far as I understand, the report details your day to day . Then the DWP claims manager decides if the evidence in the report and whatever other evidence you might have supplied fits the descriptors and how many points to award you?
I'm sure if that isn't how it goes someone will come along. The Dm can't just do their own thing, they have strict guidelines to adhere to and will take everything into account.
Did you do the pip self test on benefits and work site? That might be an indicator of the points you may achieve, although it isn't gospel.
    Best of luck.
