It's a no goer for my, my useless occupational therapist told me I needed 30k worth of adaptions to my home said yeah no problem, then a week later said I couldn't get any help because my partner and I work  I've paid for the lot, well the bare basics and gone without the rest, damn disgrace.:(
RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

  • Single householder, when did your form go back to DWP? Trying to see how far behind u I am? Thanks

Think they'd had form 5 weeks this week, was originally told 2-3 weeks, then got told how long is a piece of string  rang last week and was told 7-10 days. How many weeks in total have you been waiting Serendipity?

Perhaps different councils have different rules- if I was on low benefits etc I would have got it all free, but as I'm disabled, as long as I pay 80% they arent interested in what income you have, as it is to keep you at home, rather than 'in a home' I think.
I work part time, but they weren't interested in that.
Did you actually check your councils website??

Well, you wont have much longer to wait!!
I just phoned and have been awarded standard care and standard mobility, after 7months, but all backdated!
I may appeal the mobility, but will wait and see what they have assessed me as first.
Letter in the post, and mine went back to DWP on 1st April (email) Hard copy arrived on 3rd, so 17 working days from there, makes yours next Monday then :)

atos assessment was not in my area and was a cancellation went with my partner it lasted 20 mins (not sure wether that's good or bad)
dwp received my report within three days of assessment
    now waiting for a decision
have contacted my mp and have had no reply as yet.
will be making my daily call later hopefully it shouldn't be too much longer.

Yeah, I work and so does my partner so it was a big fat hugely disappointing no. I'll be paying off what it cost go keep me in my home for many many years to come . It was either get the work done, or go live in a care home

Yes, website said there was a 'threshold' but no figures, staff at council would not commit to a figure either , you had to go through their b.s assesment . Destroyed my soul.
