I did my claim on the 10th of july , after various phone calls i got an appointment with capita december. It was too far away so i called to change it and got a home visit 15th january. After loads more phone calls being told report was still with the assessor. I called again on the 12th march and told them this aint good enough and i am going to complain. they said it was still with assessor again. Funnily it was sent to dwp on the 13th. Called them to be told it had to go back to capita to deal with 4 queries. My completion date was going to be 4th april but is now the end of the month. friday i had a letter from dwp to say they have paperwork and will soon have a decision.. They really need to sort this all out . To wait this amount of time when you are ill is disgusting. Hope you all get decisions soon x

13 weeks is no time to be waiting :)
I applied in September, had two cancelled appts in Feb and got an appointment in March.
It is worth phoning and offering to take a cancellation, or go to as different centre, but, you'll need to phone a couple of times a week. I did get a cancellation after I kept phoning.
Some people here have been waiting over 35 weeks.
6 months seems to be around average.
I'm almost there and have been 7 months

I called up atos as aplied for pip in nov and pip said atos haf the form since dec 1th but no call from them so called and was told if they got a report from social worker they may not need to do face to face so did that called them up on monday to see if it had been passed on to dwp as they said didnt need face to face and they said no it hadnt so i went nuts and told them i wanted to speek to a manager and they said they would call me within 48hr i said wasnt good enuf and i would stay on the phone till i got one i did get one and she agreed to call me as soob as it was sent over to dwp later that day got call saying it had been sent so called up dwp on thurs and they comfirmd they had the report on the 1st and it shouldnt be long know i told him i hadnt had to do a face to face and he said in his opinion thats a good sign but not to take his word as gouspal just need to wait know

Not needing the face to face usually means you should be a priority case. Once it's back with DWP they aim to finalise it in 3 weeks and it's all backdated to the date you applied.

    Hi

just come out of hospital - whilst in there I saw the new pips fairy tale on the Andrew Marsh show

Clearly I misunderstood how wonderful pips is for everyone. No body suffers and we all get increased payments. we are treated with dignity and respect....

Perhaps I was on happy pills?????

Applied end August 2013 had assessment 20 March 2014. Ring Athos every week and told still in auditing. Still waiting for travel expenses back as well. Excuse for this is had a problem with computer. Am now more or less housebound as I cannot afford to tax my car and have severe pain when walking. Will ring again on Thursday and if no joy will send in complaint and get MP involved. The whole experience is putting me under so much strain as I also have mental health problems but I have come this far and not going to give up now.

Its sickening how long people have to wait just to get an appointment! 35 weeks is just ridiculous! It's all right for the government to say how "wonderful" it will be and how it will be relatively simple a quick when they're sat there in their 6 bedroom houses (most of which are paid by the tax payer i might add) but in reality its just screwing over the people that need it most!

I hope you get your claim through soon. Sounds like we have a long wait ahead of us.
