They will only do petrol and parking fees in certain situations. It has to be the disabled person on benefits and not the carer.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Hi serendipity2706..
I'm hoping he won't have to go through an assessment because of his learning difficulty.. He has ADHD without the hyperactivity and autistic. Although he is 17 he's mentally a lot younger and still needs to be treated as a child. He suffers from stress and gets confused very easily I don't know if he will understand all the questions they ask him.
This will all be in his medical history and if they see that first then I don't think he will need an assessment.0 -
If you aren't needing an assessment, you should have heard by now. Phone and ask if he needs one. I know they are assessing almost everyone, except terminally ill people. They need to SEE how the condition AFFECTS them, and don't really care what they have!!Holly_dolly wrote: »Hi serendipity2706..

You can obviously go with him, and speak if he is having trouble.0 -
What is the assessment like because I've read a few scare stories in the news about atos. And by the sounds of the assessors they're not very friendly people and try to make out the disability is not as bad as it really is. Maybe I should ignore what I read in the press!!0

Just found out nhs Lanarkshire will be dealing with Scotland... Because atos made a mess out of the ESA assessments and Scotland doesn't trust them, feel a bit better now!!0
