Hi been waiting 10 weeks, phoned DWP and they said up to 16 weeks but was informed by carer group that it can take up to 6 months... Not contacted atos, would they inform you that they have received the PIP application.
Hi, I'm currently at 27 weeks and was a fairly straight forward case. Atos won't advise you of anything. The wait for an assessment is 4/5 months. Read my earlier posts on here for what to do to speed things along a bit. Good luck0 -
hi new to this applied august 28 had assesment 28 march from the sound of things could take another 4 months plus i have charcot marie tooth has anyone been accepted for pip with this condition0

thanks for reply imet critera i scored 16 points i phoned atos today was told still in audit how long does it take do do a audit been 3o weeks i can not see an end to this it does get stressfull why do we have to wait so long
So, you'll be at least another 3 weeks. Keep phoning Atos to ask what the delay is. After I'd phoned them daily for about a week, mine was done and sent back to DWP (they probably got fed up with the phone calls)0 -
Still not heard anything here, had home assessment on 7th February, last time I rung Capita 12 days ago was told was on the file to be looked at then it gets passed to a senior health advisor then onto DWP. Really annoying all this waiting, but not much I can do but wait lol0

Does anyone know if anyone in Scotland has received a decision on their pip application?
My son gets low rate DLA care and mobility and needed to inform them of a change in his medical history..since he turned 17 they took everything off him. :mad:0 -

Hi we're at the waiting stage... I phoned them in mid January got the application through relatively fast. Got the form filled in at the advice shop at the start of February... I know I've not waited that long but with my sons needs I can't really afford to wait. I've had to go on job seekers because I can't claim carers allowance. It's getting too expensive to run him to hospital appointments.. The parking fees here are ridiculous!! :mad:0

You should be able to claim your parking fees back. My hospital pays out straight away you just need to take proof of your appointment and benefit and parking. I googled claiming back parking fees and found it that way.0

To speed things up- phone every few days asking for a cancellation- also ask if there are any appointments anywhere else you can get to. There's a list of sites on the Atos site. Often other places have much shorter lists. Then when you phone about cancellations ask about these as well.
You might be able to get a disabled parking badge from the local authority. There should be something online with the details, if not, phone Social work dept and ask them.
I found that nothing happened while I sat and waited patiently, but once I started phoning things really did speed up. I'm just waiting for my decision now- been 7 months, but it would have been much quicker if I'd realised early on to make a nuisance of myself.
When you get your appointment let me know and I'll send you a copy of a useful document...
Good luck0
