I was told at the aassessment it would be three weeks till I heard.Form back to Atos the next day. Two days later, told it had been 'looked at' and there were no queries. As of yesterday it is still at ATOS for some reason...
Phoned today- sent back by post to DWP on 1st.
Arrived with DWP on 3rd. 'Being dealt with in date order' so hopefully soon now. Applied on 14 October (so 6 months almost) Biggest delay was the 5 months waiting for an appointment.

Fantastic that it is now hopefully on the last leg of the journey. You inspired me to chase Atos again (I was going to leave it til Monday).....they sent it to DWP on the 2nd and DWP confirm they received it on the 3rd, they said they get it electronically as well as a hard copy by post. I was told it can take 3 weeks now or longer if there are queries. Fingers crossed that it is just ASAP.

I had my claim put in for PIP in mid August 13, heard nothing till Oct (quick) for appointment for ATOS assessment, had it complete and back to them early Nov...been in audit since, total 24 weeks been phoning every other week, and before Xmas was told it was being looked at! Today phoned and still in same position being worked on! Anyone been this long? Think it will be nearly end of May now by the time IF the DWP send me any cash (here's hoping, wishing that every month). I actually feel embarrassed when gp, hospital doctors & clinic ask why I can't do/ purchase certain items, also think my family and friends think I have not even applied as they keep saying surely you should have this or that, and I can't as no cash to do anything to help my disability.

I'd phone every 2 days now and ask them why there is a delay. I was told mine was all Ok and no delays, once the aqssessment was done and it took 2 weeks from there to be sent to DWP for a decision. If it has been looked at, ask why it hasn't been sorted out yet.

I have asked and get the same answer, it is being looked at, in fact if I happen to get the same lady she sighs! lol! she always says give it a few more days, Today I said I have been waiting on it going from being looked at before Xmas, how long will it be now and she said lots of people are experiencing the same, I asked can I do anything? Can I speak to manager? The answer was it is being dealt with and no it is done in a ordering system of applications, it won't be much longer! I totally feel an idiot and say ok and hang up...takes me a lot of courage to call back but I do, it's so embarrassing I don't know what else I can do. I hate asking people to do things for me. First applied for forms in August 2nd 2013 sent back by the 11 th August.

Some people on this thread have mentioned getting their MP involved. Have you gone down this route?

My partner applied at the beginning of January. Its now the 13th week in and she's still waiting for an appointment with ATOS. Has anyone who has rung ATOS (or similar) found that it helps chase up their appointment?

13 weeks is no time to be waiting :)
I applied in September, had two cancelled appts in Feb and got an appointment in March.
It is worth phoning and offering to take a cancellation, or go to as different centre, but, you'll need to phone a couple of times a week. I did get a cancellation after I kept phoning.
Some people here have been waiting over 35 weeks.
6 months seems to be around average.
I'm almost there and have been 7 months
