I'm gutted, but will go to appeal.

DamnI wish it was better news but keep fighting.
Something I did which I think really helped was print off the descriptors and highlight the ones I thought applied with a few notes to give to my doctor for their supporting letter. It meant it hit all the relevant points directly. PIP is so new that doctors aren't necessarily familiar with the points and how they're applied yet.
Still, it didn't get me the mobility component despite never leaving my flat alone, or at least I do once in a blue moon!0 -

I will kick them up the butt ... Well using someone else's leg lol, I sent a doctors letter in after I'd asked for the MR but reading the letter they have not even looked at it, as all the reasons they gave were the same as my first decisionI will get my appeal letter sent in Monday morning.
I have asked them to send me the doctors letter back so I can use it at appeal and will gather some more evidence.

There's another tip, take copies of everything before you send them, that way nothing can get lost by the DWP.
Give them hell! You can borrow my leg, not much use for it at present.0 -

Hehe thanks
I will take copies and I have spoken to welfare rights they will help me appeal. My mum ... Who is 70 is threatening to come with me to show she is in better condition than her 43 year old daughter lol !
I have had a good cry and now will concentrate on this appeal.

Spend a lot of time filling in the form, particularly how it affects you, what aids you use etc. I treated mine like a job application and had no queries with it from DWP. Send it recorded delivery and take a copy of it. I took mine to my assessment so I knew exactly what i had said. PIP is
a lot more strict and exacting than the DLA form. I don't know how long you'll need to wait for an assessment, but start phoning after a month and say you'll take a cancellation. Also see what other centres you can get to and ask about them too.
Good Luck
A lady from welfare rights is coming to help me, im just waiting on an appointment0 -
Also on the MR letter no one signed it ... All other letters I had from them have been signed ...
So I don't know who decided I was not eligible.
Not that it matters but I would have liked to know lol0 -

See if you can get evidence to back up your claim and make some notes regarding the criteria you think you meet. If you have someone who helps you, (even really small things) get them to write a supporting letter.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I have been waiting 9 months to get an answer about my pip claim. I even had to wait 2 months for capita to come see me.
I ring pip twice a week and have done for for months and keep getting fobbed off so on monday after reading a story on the bbc news website about pip taking as long as 107 days to process new claims ( im on day 276 ) i emailed the bbc my story and informed pip of this in hope that they will sort things.

107 days is perhaps the average time till a claim is sorted.
However, it is flat wrong to say 'as long as'.
Amongst other things, this is due to the fact that many of the claims being counted in this average are for the terminally ill claimants.
These are decided in a couple of weeks - drastically improving the average, which indeed is closer to 200 than 100 days.0
