It's about time is all I can say, dying to be able to get through my driving test, had my third test booked for the week after my accident
I hope and pray that being a wheelchair bound paraplegic qualifies me for the higher rate but who knows, independence means even more to me than it ever did.
Fingers crossed, and good luck everyone :T
Ps I wanted this chap :j but that will never be me ........RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

My DLA is due to expire 20/07/14. last Wed i got the letter saying I needed to apply for PIP and make the call before the 5/4/14. which i did after being on hold for 40 mins. i now have to return it by 12/4/14, whats the chances of having a decision by july? it also said my DLA wouldnt stop until a decision had been made, so does this mean it will continue past 20/07/14 if they havent made a decision by then? Im in north east wales if that makes a difference to time scale?

Hi, yes I would think your benefit will continue. Spend a lot of time filling in the form, particularly how it affects you, what aids you use etc. I treated mine like a job application and had no queries with it from DWP. Send it recorded delivery and take a copy of it. I took mine to my assessment so I knew exactly what i had said. PIP is
a lot more strict and exacting than the DLA form. I don't know how long you'll need to wait for an assessment, but start phoning after a month and say you'll take a cancellation. Also see what other centres you can get to and ask about them too.
Good Luck0 -
Hi
I discovered that ATOS assessment system is flawed in terms of location of centres. I queried mine and was told that there were no vaencies in my asssement catchment area. After some "questions" I was offered a cancellation at a different centre which was 3 miles from where I live. The centre I should have been going to was 30 miles away- apparently all down to postcodes!!
So do check As I understand it if you live on the edge of a postcode area that postcode is your designated test centre even if 100yds donw the road is a test centre serving an alternate post code!!!
Cheers
