Think I've just discovered that my local MP was instrumental in the implementation of the wonderful PIPS scheme

Would I be cynical to question his lack of response to my emails?

He should be answering your emails ... I had my mp try help a while back but I think so many contacted him ... I got the latest response ... Dwp and atos are very busy and you just have to wait it out.

Easy for him to say eh
  • Just had my assessment after 2 cancellations. Couldn't fault it- I was asked sensible questions and given time to answer. There was someone there too just finishing his training, so at least Dundee will have one more assessor :) Whole thing took about 90 minutes, and she is writing the report up today. So, should hear in about a month.

My lovely, only efficient person in the DWP, customer services lady sent me a quick email this morning.

I sent her an email yesterday evening to let her know to ring my landline as I was waiting for a new charger arriving for my mobile (bereft all weekend! I missed nothing). I did say I don' expect there to have been any news yet but just in case. She replied pretty much ten minutes later to say report was on its way back from Atos and when it arrives she'll put it in front of a colleague to review. It's only been a couple of days!

Unsurprisingly I have heard nothing from Atos regarding the complaint email I sent them CCing in my MP. Crossing everything vaguely crossable that I get the right decision this time.

Glad you finally got your assessment. I'd give them a ring next week to make sure they have received your report. Fingers crossed it goes through smoothly.

Thanks for the suggestion. The assessor did seem very reliable and conscientious, so hopefully it will be sent off quickly. I think they have to be checked too though don't they before anyone makes a decision.?? I'll phone end of next week to give them a bit of time to get it back. Hopefully, it shouldn't be much longer. 1st week in April is 26 weeks.
  • It will need to be audited by atos , they can't/won't commit to a timescale for it. Then once it's audited it will be send to DWP, apparently, in my area the Dm will make their decision in three weeks. Good luck serendipity2706.

    Hi

my assessor was very conscientious even down to telling me that the PC was broken but she would fill in the form that night from home. She assured me that the report would be at the office within 2 days but.......

OK it's now 17 weeks since the report was passed to auditing

Budget today wonder if that will bring any revalations

  • Hi everyone, the wait for a pip assessment is approx 4-5 months. I applied on 6th October 2013 i had my assessment on 28th Feb. Its a long drawn out affair and it gets worse. All your information is sent seperately, they send the results of your assessment via internet this is your digital records any papers you took with are photocopied and sent via courier to the DWP. Before that can happen though ATOS has to do a write up of descriptors for each score they gave you for each question you were asked. This process is where i am currently at and i have asked them how long i should expect to hear from them and was told 3-6 weeks. The process from start to finish is approx 7 months ! Kind of hard to get your head around the reasons why but from my experience they are both blaming each other for the hold ups. Well don't surprise me ! Hope this is useful to you all, goodluck with your PIP journey ! :)
  • Hello,

Like many folks I'm becoming really frustrated with my PIP application. I'm a former DLA claimant but I didn't complete the PIP forms in time to be transferred over. My Husband was killed in a RTA and I had other things on my mind.

I began the PIP process on 5th Oct. I had an assessment on 11Feb. My "file" is still with Capita. I've already written a letter of complaint which Capita replied to but didn't address the issues I raised. It was a standard "sorry, we are busy" letter.

Does anyone have an email address for an actual person within Capita that I can write to? Due to cognitive issues, I'm not brilliant on the phone but I have no problems with email.

    Thanks in advance.

    JL.
