I am now currently preparing and helping My sister with Her claim. She has a lifetime award for middle care dla but her mobility has become so poor that she now has to use a wheelchair a lot of the time So a change of circumstances has triggered a PIP claim! However I feel a lot wiser and prepared now I have gone through it with my husband But that is not going to Make it any easier for My sister waiting!0

Called to check they received my reconsideration documents, which they have, to be informed it could take up to eight weeks for a decision to be made.
I mean really. Just another farcical piece of an already long winded shambolic process.0 -
i applied august 2013,was going for an assesment end of jan when i got there they had cancelled appointment part of my condition is agoraphobia had to take my son with me and got up at 3am to prepare myself, travel expenses took a month to come threw, just had another assessment had to travel this time to edinburgh which is over 45 miles from me,after my terrible time which took 3 days to recover from i was told atos would send report within 8 weeks then dwp takes another 4 weeks before getting any kind of answer so it will be roughly 43weeks since i did my claim and probably wont get anything as by the way the scrutinizing everything you have to be practically one foot in the grave to get anything (pardon the pun dont mean to offend anyone,)at to top this of i have to go to atos this week for my esa assesment i have no idea how long that takes to sort out, theres no way i can work,im on 23 different types of medication and all this just makes me feel more of a failure than i already do,cant see a light at the end of the tunnel.0

ATOS are poor, but I don't think Capita are any better, and as G4S are being mooted to take over from ATOS with ESA (they of London 2012 security chaos, and prisoner foul ups) I cannot see life improving much.

This PIP Early Progress report shows that whilst ATOS got lost on the way to the stadium, Crapita made it, false started, then fell over the starting blocks and grazed it's knee.

Basically all their estimated time scales for how long things took and assessments needed were wrong very wrong but..... at least they've become more proficient in spotting it and writing reports on it. Which is some how better than fixing it.
It's a shambles.0 -
Was ESA ever this bad when it started out? I know there were some problems with it; but I don't think it was quite this bad.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Seems like people that claimed early on were really lucky. I just had my assessment from my claim 6 months ago. I haven't slept in days and been ill for weeks because I can't afford my medicine, and I've not been able to leave the house in months because I can't afford my treatment. Does anybody that claimed around the end of 2013 have their results back yet? How long does it take from the assessment to getting the result?0

Forgetting about PIP, for a minute, if you are really at the point of cannot afford your meds, have you checked that you are claiming all you are entitled to, apart from PIP?
If you are unsure, this site will do a calculation for you: Turn2us.org
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
