So i finally found out about my mandatory reconsideration! By a letter on the doormat. I have been awarded standard for both daily living and mobility until 2021!
Finally the ordeal is over - was hoping for enhanced DL but something is better than the nothing they were originally giving me.
Thanks to you guys who helped me xxx

How can this happen? Either the first decision maker got it wrong and can't do his job properly or the second one doesn't know how to either.
It does make you wonder how many decisions are wrong but never challenged.0 -

The whole system is crazy. As I have posted before my daughter who is blind got 0-0 initially, when we asked for reconsideration she got 21 - 12 (higher rate in both categories) within 7 days. I am sure there is no one on this forum will beat that !!!!-up.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

I got similar with DLA:
First one said no. Got advice and got told to appeal. (they, like with PIP, look at it again before it goes to appeal) It got looked at again and they said no and we were about to take it to appeal. I was then sent a letter telling me that they'd overturned the decision and said yes.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I wonder if anybody knows of the figures where the claimant is refused PIP and is successful at either the MR or appeal. Those that don't appeal either accept the decision as being the right one or don't know what to do or how to do it.
Even if the success figure on MR or appeal is only 50%, it does beg the question if those that don't ask for a MR or appeal, 50% have accepted a wrong decision.0
