Finally got my assessment date through this morning. ..next week and a home visit rather than travelling to the nearest centre. I hadn't specifically asked for a home visit but had said on the form that travelling too far would be difficult pain and concentration wise, so it would be handy if the centre was not too far away.

Applied last September and after reading everyone else's posts and my experience with youngest, it's not too bad a timescale.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

  • Been told 3 to 4 weeks wait for a decision. They have all they need and could see the documentation on the system, so just waiting for a decision maker here too

They can do wot they want I contacted my mp last night maybe he can do something to hurry them iup I've got a letter saying they have all the information they need sorry for the long wait from the decision maker dated 16 then they said on phone they didn't get all information until the 23rd they are full of crap

Was it 1st April you had your assessment? If so I wouldn't expect a decision yet. As I said previously, it's taking 6 weeks from assessment to award. I agree that the different call centres tell you different things. I spoke to....Blackpool. Wrexham, Bridgend, Wolverhampton & Stockport. All gave me conflicting information. I do understand how stressful it is having to wait. :(

I had my assessment on the 11th March, got the Decision on the 20th. Very quick I know - But I had MP involvement. I got the MR requested on the 23rd March, Gave them all the paperwork and extra info on the 13th April. Got a decision on the 23rd April. This is far quicker than normal as i had heavy MP involvement
