    Hi

As some are aware I am awaiting outcome of a MR. Rang today no decision yet. Said usually when allocated to a case manager its about 2/3 weeks for decision. That's ok then I'm at 4 weeks now so..............
Just another different timescale, all in a days work for DWP. Think their philosophy is "If you cant give them a straight answer just confuse 'em"

    Hi,

I had my assessment last Tuesday, I rang up this morning and they said a letter was sent out yesterday, I got awarded standard mobility with 8 points, however I didn't get the daily living component and scored 6 points, I'm abit disappointed as the daily living component is what I would of liked. They messed up over the phone at first and told me that I got the daily living component however after he told me it was £21.55 a week I said to him it's not, he then apologized and said sorry I meant the standard mobility, so that was abit disappointing.

I'm not sure if to appeal and try and get the extra 2 points however I hear you can lose everything, so I'm abit scared to do so.

You know if I ask for a mandatory reconsideration for the daily living component, can they end up taking away the motability component, or would it be a matter of they would either increase my component or just keep the same decision? As I've heard a tribunal can decide your not entitled to anything and that's one of the risks you take, can a mandatory reconsideration do that also?

    Thank you
When asking for a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) they look at the whole thing not just part of it, so you do risk losing everything yes, but they could also keep it the same or increase your mobility too. However if you think you should have been awarded more points then you should ask for MR. If you do decide to do this then you'll need to ask for a copy of your assessment report first. You only have 1 month from the date of the letter to get your MR in so please don't wait. Goodluck.

I've never heard of this before. It depends how long it takes them to get all the evidence they need. I've heard of a lot of people recently having decision within a couple of weeks of assessment.

Are you sure you can risk all with the MR, I thought it was just if you went to tribunal?

Poppy is correct, its a chance you take. I read the report which simply did not reflect my assessment and what was said. At the end of the day I know what I can and cant do and thought it was so off the mark to award 7 points. I will take all the way to tribunal if need be.

Its hard but at the end of the day you know your condition and what help you need. I'd wait for the letter and if you find its not right what they are saying make your decision.
    Good luck
