The decision letter was dated from the 24th and I had my assessment on the 20th so I guess so! I'm more upset at the fact that it's completely ignored everything that I answered during my assessment. I sent in medical evidence after my assessment because they had lost the documents I sent in previously, but they wouldn't have even received the medical evidence before the award was given. It's like they based the decision off of someone else's claim
Hi, Sorry you didn't get the outcome you wanted. This sounds just like my report it seemed like she was on about a different person. The report didn't reflect half what I said and luckily I had my daughter with me or I would have thought I was imagining things So, so frustrating and unfair. Go straight for a Mandatory Reconsideration and don't wait for the promised phone call as they rarely happen. I wrote a detailed letter numbering each descriptor and explained how I struggled with each one individually.
For example I use a dosage box for my tablets as I suffer terribly with short term memory loss (I suffer with fibromyalgia) among other illnesses and this is a symptom. I have numerous times taken double or even treble pills as I have no recollection of taking them so when in pain took them again. Now I clearly told the assessor that my daughter fills my dosage box for me, however she hides and gives me my Oramorph liquid and soluble co-codamol ( I have to have soluable after stomach surgery) as obviously they do not fit in a dosage box as they are liquid. I was awarded 2 points noting I used a dosage box they said I only needed her to fill it. I would and should have been awarded 4 points due to the liquids and this would have raised my points from 7 to 9 just for this alone. This would have been enough to have given me standard care but instead I just missed out by one point. This is just one example the report is very selective and ignores a lot of what was said. I just explained all the errors as above. I also had a letter from my GP just confirming I genuinely suffer with what I have said and he wrote my medications and said about my memory and I struggle with daily tasks etc.
I would start writing you MR immediately and see what other evidence you can supply and send off by recorded delivery.
I know on here earlier someone was saying about genuine claims versus those who try it on and I totally get it.
Why when I am genuine am I not sleeping and worrying all the time about my claim? Its bad enough coping with ill heath day in day out and claiming benefits when you are used to working and earning your own money. This should be straight forward for those in need but instead we are waiting 12 months or more its so out of order and unfair. You wait 9 months for initial decision which is wrong then have to wait another 4 months for a MR and if that fails God knows how long for a tribunal? By this time most are saying they just cant cope with anymore stress and give up. I wont if my MR doesn't go in the right direction I'll go all the way with the numpty's!
Good luck to everyone and thanks for allowing me a rant or two.

HI, just woundered if anyone else feels the same, dwp have had everything since 9th October for claim for pip, waiting on decision being made, when I phone up I seem to be told different things from different people every time, it has been with them for three weeks now, is this a normal time? I have read people recieve there decision days after assesment, does it vary from place to place? Can a decision be made within one day? Or does that take a few days? If I was to phone and a decision had been made would they tell me over the phone or do you have to wait for a letter? Many thanks.0

Hi Suz1970, I only got my decision this week after dwp having had my paperwork since 19th Sep and I got told for two weeks that my decision had been made but as the letter had not been produced they couldn't give me any information. I have found this last part the most stressful. I have just recieved my paperwork this morning :-D Good luck.
Ps.....they did give me my decision over the phone on Tuesday as the letter had been generated.0 -

Hi, l am currently waiting on a decision as well & am just at week 3. Have you received a letter confirming they have all the information? I asked the same question yesterday about different areas & 111 kindly answered & believes there is which can only mean our areas have a high volume compared to others l guess. I too am told a different 'story' each time l call to see if a decision has yet been made, on the last call l was told it could take 8 weeks! It's so frustrating to be almost at the end but not quite! Hopefully we will get our decisions soon.0 -
Hi thank you for reply, I have not received any letters saying they have information but I did have a phone call on the 9th October from dwp to say they have received everything they need from capita and a decision would be made within 2 weeks, I have been phoning every couple of days but nothing yet, then today I was told also it could take 8 weeks due to how busy they are, hope you get your decision soon! ( I have found this site very helpful!! )0

They tell everyone 8 weeks lol but it rarely takes that long. I had my decision within 2 weeks. Most often tho they don't tell you the truth, well that's what i decided anyway. They told me that my report had been sent back to ATOS because there was a problem... Lies! Atos had already closed my case. Of course all areas vary when it comes to making that decision but i've read an awful lot of stories very recently where people are having their decision within 1 week of assessment. My advice to anyone waiting longer than 2 weeks, ring today again but this time leave it as late as possible. Sometimes they don't put info on computer until later in the day. I'm sure they're open till 6pm but don't quote me on this. Good luck to those waiting and do let us know the out come.0

Thank you all for replies, I have had more information and advice from this site than I have from dwp and capita! I phoned this morning about 8am so I will call today as late as possible as you said. Thank you. And fingers crossed for everyone else waiting!0

Morning all,
Just wondering if anyone can shed light on what I was told this morning when I called DWP for an update on my MR?
The lady said "your case is actually with a case manager now so it should not be too long". Am I right in thinking a decision is imminent? Just so stressed and nervous and fed up of waiting months for any movement. Would you ring tomorrow or just wait?
thanks
