I applied to PIP back in April 2013. I went for my assessment with ATOS in June and despite numerous calls to the PIP helpline in Blackpool to discuss my claim. I was eventually told they hadn't received my form back and that I needed to chase this up with ATOS. I contacted ATOS on there freephone telephone number. To be told that my form had been lost in the system. But it was being dealt with and was sorry for the delay. After numerous telephone calls to both numbers and sending in a letter of complaint to ATOS. My form eventually got returned to PIP (DWP) in Blackpool on the 1st November and is now being checked by the Auditor.
It is now coming to the end of November and I still have not had a decision whether I will be awarded PIP or not. When I tried to make a complaint with PiP (DWP) they said they are still within the 30 day timeline. (Even though I applied in April)
Waste of time and still no better off knowing either way. I am in the process of contacting my local Councillor as I feel I have been treated terribly by the whole system.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.0 -
6 weeks since my assessment and still nothing. I called last week and they hadn't had the report back from ATOS yet. Didn't call ATOS as it's effort enough to work up to one phone call.
Only just got DHP decision from the council, that took four months.
Now work have cocked up too, new manager who can't find any of my sick notes and has no idea when my SSP runs out or if indeed it already has. Had to get my friend to phone for me and she didn't want to tell me the outcome because it's yet another setback. Just over a month ago I had to go through a lot of hassle sorting out my pay because a sick note had gone missing then too and it had messed up my sick pay and here I am back at square one because that manager left without filing anything and there has clearly been none of the promised comprehensive handover I was promised.
This is all doing wonders for my mental breakdown and I'll have to start the ESA roller coaster soon. I'm really close to having had enough.0 -
Does anyone know after an award how long you wait to see any money in the bank?0

I am utterly disgusted at this shambles. Atos have had my claim since the 19th Sept. Rang today, I need a medical, oh well, I'm only paraplegic after an accident clearly they think there is a cure for spinal cord injuries!! Anyway, they said I need an appointment but they haven't got any wth!? I have to ring every Wednesday to see if there are any cancellations. I'm sick of this. Had to pay for all my home adaptions because my partner and I work part time!! I can't get the wheelchair I need either. Some days are just pure struggle.RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

Hi All, am now in week 22 since claiming - have had my assessment, and my file has been sitting in the ATOS audit pile for the last 9 weeks. My last conversation with ATOS was that my file has been worked on twice in the last week, and they are awaiting clarification of some points from the health assessor - if they cannot get this information then I will have to undergo another assessment - in the meantime be patient, stop phoning, there is no time scale and it will take as long as it takes. What more can I say - totally horrified about the whole procedure - as for attending another assessment!!! You have got to be kidding me that these people actually know what they are doing. DWP are apologizing for the delays, but say there is nothing they can do until they receive the paperwork back from ATOS. Yet the ATOS audit is all about checking that the health professionals have filled out the reports correctly before they can submit them - any errors found have to be corrected by the original health assessor. So the waiting game continues.0

Hi All, just thought I would bump this up to see if anybody has had any further information - or the luck of receiving a decision from DWP yet. Or are we all still sitting in the ATOS/CAPITA audit piles? I finally got the courage to phone them again last week, and relayed my previous conversation - I was assured that they do not have the policy of recalling you to another interview, and was wrongly advised. However, due to the length of time (my assessment was over 13 weeks ago, claim was submitted 24 weeks ago) my case was being escalated to the managers as urgent - lo and behold 12 days later and DWP still have not received the paperwork. Just cannot bring myself to phone ATOS again, to be told that I have moved from one pile to another with the standard parrot phrase of "there are no time limits, and it will take as long as it needs". How long do these people need to take to write a report according to DWP guidelines? I am also very surprised that nothing has been reported in the press over how long people are waiting for. Very tired of this whole saga - wished I had never started it in the first place. Decided not to go ahead with ESA claim because I cannot put myself through ATOS anymore. Really hope that some-one has heard something, or that we get a positive brown envelope in our Christmas mail.0

Hi Cazz still waiting for decision here got the letter stating they had all the info they needed
I ask to speak to a manager last Monday and he assured me a decision would be made in two days. Bt not holding my breath been told different things every time I ring. And worried it wont be the decision I need. Been through this 4 times and the last time they said I needed help but not enough, although my condition has got worse over the last six months so hopefully. Good luck to you I really hope you hear soon not good for your health all this waiting its disgusting:)0 -
I applied for P.I.P in July, had an assessment on the 11th September.
I have just this morning received a letter saying I'm entitled to Enhanced
Daily Living and Standard Mobility....
All back pay has been put into the account too.
I have looked at the report from the Decision Maker and it all is spot on
Nothing is wrong with it..
I hope you all get a decision soon...

I have literally just called ATOS. I called them last week and the woman I got was actually, on the face of it, quite helpful. She said she wasn't happy with how long it was taking and would escalate it. She took a note of my number and understood to leave a message if I didn't pick up due to my anxiety with phone calls. I hadn't heard anything hence my follow up today. She said it had been escalated and had been worked on in the last day, therefore it should be on its way to DWP in the next few days and she would ring as soon as it was sent off, saying she'll check this afternoon and tomorrow morning to check progress.
Now whether any of this is in fact true remains to be seen but at least she appeared to be polite and helpful!
Heading into my 10th week since assessment, applied on 16th July.0
