I was under the impression that DWP made the decision but I could be wrong I thought the face to face was an assessment from a medical person and then the information was sent to to DWP for a decision I had my face to face 24th June DWP received information on the 25th June and five weeks and one day later I am still waiting . I hope you hear sooner than me

Well I finally had my phone call today.
The lady I spoke to was absolutely horrified at what Capita had done. She says she will be recommending a full reconsideration on the grounds of a 'fictional assessment report' and that if I need a new assessment it must be a home assessment with a person with mental health knowledge. She was absolutely astounded when I told her the extent of my problems and the utter lies Capita had told. She did say that she was really going to fight my corner as she believed I had been utterly wronged by Capita. She did say it will take time but she will do her best for me. I believe her- she seemed very sincere and was very understanding. So have some hope those of you going through this and stay strong xxx

I am so pleased for you. Please keep us updated. I am at an earlier stage than you with this and my daughters claim which is pretty much mental health based although having a massive impact on her physical problems. Her decision letter was completely fictional aswell. Did they award you any points? Best of luck, I will be rooting for you xx

Fabulous news! Terrible that it came to this, but fantastic to have such a positive response and someone who listened. And this is encouraging for others in the same position. I wonder how much pressure there is to only 'allow' a certain number of people to have successful claims? Or is this just due to personal differences when it comes to the report writing ie some are good at their jobs, others just aren't? I'll keep rooting for you.

I'm angry today. My additional funding in order for me to complete my MA from the NHS was turned down (again) today. The letter I received suggested that doing my placement part time was a personal choice. In some ways they're right, it is a choice, a choice that stops me from becoming ill. Evidently I should have done the opposite; worked full time and become ill. Then they would have extended the funding. No. I'm not even joking. What happened to common sense? Too many 'computer says no tick boxes' I suspect...

Still no PIP result for me...

kken- not as yet. However from what I gathered I'm thinking I might potentially get standard care. She seemed of the opinion that it was my mental health conditions that were the most significant issue which is fair enough. I do have mobility issues and I'm in constant pain but she seemed to pick up more on my mental health conditions and that they majorly affected my life in several ways which is not untrue to say, I would say the care needs are more significant. I was on my way home from physio when she rang and she offered to call back but I declined and took the call. She couldn't believe what Capita had said as she said from what I told her it was nothing like what I told her. I spoke to her for a good half an hour and she asked me about all my conditions and how they affect me, I explained about the letter I had written and she said she's going to pass it on for it to be considered but I got the impression that had it been up to her I would have it. But like I say she said her and her boss would fight the case for me as I had clearly been treated very badly and it wasn't right.
LL- that I don't know. When OH went for his DLA assessment, he was seen by a qualified mental health nurse who knew all about his condition and he got through it easily. However this woman who assessed me clearly hadn't got a clue about mental health conditions- I don't know what she was but she was of the assumption that all my mental health conditions (anxiety, depression, PTSD and panic disorder) were all the same. I stressed to the lady I spoke to that they aren't and she understood this and was amazed they had thought that. Some people I guess are lucky but I think mental health conditions are very misunderstood which is why there's so many fails on mental health grounds.

You would be surprised. My daughters claim was submitted July 2013, had to complain before she got her assessment in June this year and decisions was exactly 51 weeks from claim. Only 4 weeks from report to Dwp but a year's wait overall is quite common. I know of someone still waiting from May 2013. Having said that, newer claims appear to be getting dealt with a little quicker. Fingers crossed for a quick response for you guys.

When my daughter phoned them last week they stated that there turn around from receiving reports was 3 weeks and they were now 5 weeks and was in the critical decision stage but didnt give any idea to further time span. Reading earlier posts I think it depends what part of the country you are how quickly your claim is processed
